My car was towed because the person who had rented my parking spot out to me didn’t know that he was not authorized to do so. This company happened to have the police contract for that area. My car also needed a flat-​bed because it has all wheel drive. Some thieves have tow trucks so I make my car really hard to tow by parking it with the wheels turned and they cannot straighten them because I have a steering wheel lock that I put on it. Both the super of the building and the receptionist at the impound lot even told me that they had a really hard time getting the car loaded on the truck. My complaint is simple. When I got my car back it looked as though that they had attempted to remove the steering wheel lock to straighten the wheels. It looked like they had attempted to cut the steering wheel lock off. It also looks like they had also attempted to cut the steering wheel to remove the steering wheel lock. Fortunately my steering wheel lock is a quad hook meaning that it has two hooks on each end instead of one to prevent that. Also, for whatever reason, they decided to cut off my steering wheel cover. I do not understand the rational for that. I understand that in this case people were just doing their job, but that does not give them the right to inflict damage to peoples’ cars and I consider this to be vandalism.
