Today I had a semi monthly business lunch set up with a friend and mentor in my field. We initially set up to meet at a downtown sandwich shop, but about two hours before our set time I got the«hey so I’m REALLY hungry, can we meet at The Works instead?» text. The first thing that came to mind? John C Reilly asking Will Ferrell«did we just become best friends?» In Step Brothers. You never have to ask me twice if I want to go to a place where onion rings are piled high like the CN Tower and Diet Coke comes in your moms old Pyrex measuring cup. There are three things in life that are true — death, taxes, and me looking for an excuse to get my eat on. Less than two hours later, I am seated with a bucket of Diet Coke in front of me and my nose 3 feet deep in a menu of burgers and sides as detailed as the script to Inception. Trying to pick your burger at The Works based on the toppings each burger possesses is like trying to pick which puppy you should pet the most, or which baby has the softest skin. We ordered bacon wrapped tater tots and a tower of onion rings to start, and they were in front of us in the time it took to loosen the belt a few notches. It was frickin magic how fast we got our apps in a crowded lunch rush. I looked around for two Europeans with fake tans in skin tight bright sequins playing with a tiger but didn’t see anything. Maybe David Blaine was manning the deep fryer and knew the order before we did. Our service was prompt, friendly, and anticipatory of upcoming needs. The burger was incredible and so large and filing I could barely touch my outstanding fries. We joked about having some pocket tots to go, Napoleon Dynamite style, but the tots were so good we were faced with the debate of whether or not burger pants was as appetizing of a choice. We decided grease stains might look like pee stains, and it was time to declare the happiest defeat since One Direction decided it was time to take a break since they couldn’t check their fashionable haircuts in the mirror anymore because all of their money was in the way. If you like burgers, skip your next two Wendy’s or McDonalds trips and make some KD instead and treat yoself and take a mosey on down to the works. Going from Wendy’s to the works is like going from a pink bike with training wheels on the back and ribbons hanging from the handlebars to a Lear jet with an on call pilot. Knowing that your«meat» isn’t a combination of empty molson cases and sawdust coloured with a brown sharpie is just an added bonus.

One of the best burger places in London. Excellent burgers and good food quality! Little expensive but worth it. Take in consideration the time because the burgers take a while to be done.

Lots to choose from, great place to eat… Soo many burger choices and plenty ways to top every one of them! Endless fries with many types of sauces for dipping, highly recommend this place! You could eat here 100 times and still have not tried everything!

Best burger & fries I’ve ever had! I recommend this place to anyone who’s vegetarian, or simply just loves beef or chicken! They have everything for you! I tried their milkshakes it was cool that they were served in measuring cups! The milkshakes there are unreal!

Absolutely amazing burger choices… if you can put it on a burger they will do it. Burgers are huge. Lots of vegetarian options. Unique serving style with bake dishes instead of plates. Don’t go unless you are really hungry or you won’t finish it all.

The Works never disappoints. I love how many different options they have. It’s my go to with a large group because you are bound to find something that everyone will enjoy. The deep fried pickles are the best I’ve ever had. It can get super crowded(especially if there’s a Knights game) and loud but the staff do their best and are always super attentive. They also have Barking Squirrel on tap which is hard to find!

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. This time, I tried the hipster burger(avocado, caramelized onions & havarti) with an elk patty. Loved it. I had the slaw as a side, but wasn’t a huge fan — too vinegary and spicy for my tastes. My bf had the son of a beech(avocado, sun dried tomato and beechhouse sauce) on a veggie burger declared it delicious. He also liked the slaw. The service was prompt and we even had a second server check on us at one point. For being downtown, in a prime location, the prices are reasonable. I would definitely come back here.

Pretty dry! Got the«getting piggy with it» I wish I hadn’t. I had high hopes. Everyone says this place has good burgers but they need to have their taste buds examined. I guess if you compare their burgers to McDonald’s it not too bad Their beef mix is lacking fat to keep the patties moist. They are using too lean of beef. Their burgers have no spices or flavors. The burgers are drier than a camels vigina. The fries are decent once you pick all of the burnt onion ring batter out of them. The noise level was atrocious. Loud music, I could not even hear the person sitting across from me. 8f you want a good burger check out meat heads.

Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Burgers not as good as I hoped for being a burger restaurant. Onion rings are a must have. Bathroom cleanliness… Not good. At all.

My parents loved this place, and if they love a place, you know it’s good. Fun, casual atmosphere and friendly staff. TONS of burger options(set aside half an hour to read the menu) — fries were great as well. They also have some more unique options like Bison meat. Burgers are cooked medium, so expect them to be pink unless you request otherwise. Don’t expect a super quick burger — they’ll tell you if you’ve never been that it takes 20 minutes to cook the patties, and we’ve definitely waited that and more with a bigger group. A meal itself(burger and fries) will run you $ 12 – 17 depending on your topping choices, and is quite filling — it’s a BIG burger, probably 1⁄3 pound. While that’s not bad for a good quality burger, it can be quite expensive — upgrading the sides to onion rings or poutine can add $ 4, starters can be $ 10 for some onion rings, pop is like $ 4 and milkshakes can be up to $ 10. Beer is not cheap either. It’ll add up FAST if you’re not careful. Drinks are definitely where they get you. I had a few different burgers including the crappy tire and they were all great, their fries were definitely the standout of the meal though. My family all ordered different toppings and there were no complaints, other than the coleslaw which we were told was very mild but ended up being too spicy for my parents. We went around 4pm on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating. Other times we’ve went at lunch and they were packed with a line and 30 minute wait, but that was a couple years ago and I’m not sure if that’s still the case. Street parking or park underground in Covent Garden if you’re there during Covent’s business hours.

This place is always great. They have great burgers which are extremely customizable. And huge portions too. There’s a nice amount of side options and loads of toppings to choose from. Their milkshakes are also great, the coconut one in particular is very nice. I’d definetly suggest this place of you’re in london… It was also on the food network!

What a great place for burgers to die for! Have to say everyone hyping this place I was not expecting anything but greatness and that is exactly what I received. The service was great considering there was a concert at Budweiser Gardens. Our meals were hot, fresh and just plain Delicious!

Excellent quality burger and home made fries! Simple and delicious. Way too many choices– get ready to read! Fun décor, with a factory feel. I know it’s a small chain but it’s got a sincere vibe that earns it my 5 stars.

Drinks: my boyfriend had a Barking Squirrel, one of his favourites and a lot of restaurants don’t have it! I had the strawberry daiquiri crush. It was. Delicious slushie like concoction of strawberries, OJ and run(which I didn’t realize was in there, dangerous). Both were cold and out quickly. Mains: I had the Full Mountie which is poutine on a burger and 100% genius. My burger was hot, gravylicious and cheesy. I picked fries as my side and they were perfect. Hot and crispy and just the right amount. My boyfriend has the Hunka Hunka which had peanut butter, bananas and bacon. He said the highlight of the burger was the bananas cut into chips instead of spears. Dessert: we shared the Cookie Monster which is perfect for two people. The cookie chunks were the perfect stop between dough and super crunchy. Our waiter was awesome. Super friendly, our orders were perfect and he was on top of our every need.

My girl and I went for burgers a couple weeks ago. Nice clean establishment with a happy staff which is nice to see. She had the love goat burger with fries and I had the cracker jack with slaw. She wanted hers well done, I did not. There was a slight mix up and we both got well done burgers. No big deal to me but I did ask for another not well done. The waitress and I had a slight miscommunication, and she for some reason thought I wanted a very rare burger(but I did not). When they brought me the burger the server made the comment that it was as rare as they could legally make it. LoL. I’m no cannibal and thus couldn’t eat it. The management were excellent even though I wasn’t looking for anything in the form of compensation for the mix up. We must note the fries were the VERYBESTINLONDON. The slaw was pretty darn good as well. We can’t wait to return as we think this might be one of the best burgers joints in the city. Not a fan of the menu as there are many options but another minor issue that gets resolved by being patient. LoL. Check it out, you won’t be dissaoointed.

I had the lunch special«son of a beech» burger(4oz). It was pretty good, a little dry and not pink in the middle as the server said. But still really good. I had the fries as the side and they were perfectly cooked. Delicious. I can’t wait to try another amazing burger concoction.

Unilocal rating is on par with my experience. 4 stars solid. Great place for burgs in the downtown london area! I can’t express how much I was looking forward to a good burger and how well The Works delivered. I got a simple burger called the Mary which had the customary yellow cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato and patty, with a nice fried egg on top. I like that they offered to do it medium since well done burgs can get rubbery. I also like that it the patty is generous and that mine was cooked perfectly medium(slightly pink all the way through). I didn’t like that the egg was all egg white and that I couldn’t find the runny yolk– that was a bit of a disappointment, hence –1 star. I had a poutine on the side which was pretty mediocre to my standards, but a valiant effort for London. Can’t wrong them. My date and I also had two starters, the deep fried pickles and the tower of onion rings. We got the pickles first, which funny enough, we didn’t actually order. The table next to us were having the identical appetizer and we assumed that this was free, since others were having it too. We were super impressed by this until we saw it on the bill. We think our waiter mixed up our appetizer order but I couldn’t bring myself to say anything. He was a really nice kid and was overly busy yet very attentive. En plus, the pickles were fricken fantastic. Happy to pay for them. The onion rings were some of the best I’ve had. Hands down. I’d probably go back if there wasn’t so much more to try in the area.

Thank god for this place! It made London Ontario have at least one good memory. Super fresh food, very cool presentation, great waiter staff, very friendly. The Sexy burger was just too damn good. And the cole slaw made me feel like I had never had good cole slaw before. I visited twice in my 4 day stay in hell. I mean London, Ontario. And both times my belly was filled with JOY.
