I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t usually hang around local watering holes like this, but this place was interesting to say the least. The place seemed reasonably clean and bright enough that I wouldn’t necessarily lump this place into a dive bar classification like most strip mall locals. Unsurprisingly, the beer selection is all big brands. I immediately knew the revoke my question of craft options when the waitress raised a skeptical eyebrow, almost in efforts of saying — «look where you are before asking stupid questions». I immediately bounced back with my request for a pint of Stella and moved forward with a more conscious process of my surroundings for the rest of the night. Being a Friday, they had karaōke going on which seemed quite popular. So popular that people were actually slow dancing to certain songs. The cross section of attendees was unlike anything I’ve seen in a long time during peak bar hours(12−2am). One table was a table filled with surly bikers, one table with hockey sweater wearing college students, the next table with a group of senior citizens. The surrounding areas had a little mix of every age and a surprisingly diverse crowd at various booths and tables. But attitudes were minimal, everyone seemed to be there for the same reason, booze and good times. So how can I hate on that? I still can’t give this place any better than a 3 star review though. Walking in, I actually expected this to be my «train wreck» experience during my weekend visit to the city, so it surprised me that I actually made it to last call with no real complaints and a reasonably priced drink tab to pay. 3 stars for that.
