I was really excited when I heard about Chop opening up here in London. I was pretty disappointed when I walked in. It looks like Moxies inside with the same employees. Chop and Moxies are owned under the same company. The menu was different but the food that came out was not impressive. The steaks were not comparable to the keg and they were expensive. We had the crab cakes to start and they barely had any crab in them. The dessert choices were disappointing. I will not be returning. Just another overpriced and overhyped chain restaurant.

Great service and a great bar area as well! They have a great décor, the entire restaurant recently being upgraded. Comfortable booths and plenty of room for a large party or intimate for two people. Food and service was fantastic!

Was so looking forward to our«family dinner» out(which doesn’t happen often). Mouth was watering thinking about the yummy streak I was going to eat! Could have been more disappointed. Steak was so filled with gristle that the steak knife could barely get through it. Definitely not worth the $ 35 bucks they charge you. To compensate the waitress offers«dessert on her». Great observation… I ordered from the gluten free menu… asked for double veggies(hold the potatoes) but yes please offer me a desert. When declined she returned«i managed to get you some free steak bites for your next visit». REALLY! What would ever make you think that we would come back after this experience. Lesson learned… I should have just taken her up on the original offer of «switching» it and taken my chances with a second one. Update. Called an spoke with the GM. According to him policy is such that any customer complaint is suppose to be referred to a manager. The experience above was likely moreso a reflection on an improperly trained waitress. I was offered a gift certificate to compensate for my meal.

Went here last night! First plus… the steak bites! Amazing steak appy! Next plus… awesome indoor outdoor patio seating with giant sliding doors! Great ambiance! Third… Monday is ½ off wine and they serve my favorite«house» wine APOTHIC! You can’t go wrong! We also had some crab cakes for appetizers… also delish! And the vegetable tempura — also yum-o! Waitress was dressed amazingly(more like a model than a waitress which was a lovely touch) and… Last but certainly not least… I had the best filet and loaded potato I have had in a long time!!! I highly recommend this place for a nice dinner with clients/business partners or just a super special night out with family and friends!

First time trying Chop. Friendly welcome. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Fair pricing and most important very good food. I had the teriyaki Sirloin with a huge helping of wasabi mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. My husband had the peppercorn steak. Both cooked perfectly. We had the trio dessert which was very good. A wonderful time overall. I’ve been here twice for dinner and today I went for lunch. Had the steak bites as an appie. Let’s just say… Tots awesome. So tasty. Had the maple bourbon haddock blackened as my main. Just the right amount of sweetness infused with a touch of hotness. Once again impressed by the servers and the relaxed atmosphere.

It’s not the Keg… It’s a similar menu. They have«chop experience menus» which come with soup/salad and sides for $ 30 and above. I started with the escargot stuffed mushrooms for $ 11. As promised, they were drenched in garlic and parsley butter with Asiago cheese. Drenched was an understatement. I didn’t think snails could drown but Chop managed. They offer skimpy beer specials(usually 16 oz glasses instead of full pints) for around $ 6. The steak was good quality and prepared a proper medium rare but looked a little dismal on the plate. In the end, it was a decent meal but… It’s not the Keg.

Tonight I went with my family to Chop for my birthday dinner. This used to be Moxies so the interior is pretty much the same with a few minor changes. I had the Pink Lemonade to drink which was delicious, some sort of raspberry liquor and lemonade with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. It was fantastic. My sister and Mom had a gin and tonic which looked great. The appetizers were great. The cheese toast, although quite salty, was delicious. We also had the crab cakes where were delicious I ordered the filet mignon medium well which was absolutely perfect. The steak melted in my mouth and was absolutely delicious. The fresh vegetables were delicious and still crunchy. All in all it was quite good. I would put chop in the same category as Milestones or Moxies. My only criticism would be our waitress did not seem like she was happy to be at work and wasn’t as friendly as I was expecting.
