Our family regularly orders the Special Dinner for two takeout. We don’t like egg rolls, so they substitute two more chicken balls, on top of the extra order of chicken balls we always have. I’ve added an order of Szechuan chicken, or Kung Pao chicken at times to spice it up, and it’s always very fresh, hot, and delicious. For us, its been consistently great food.

Recently at this restaurant. They charge $ 1 for dry noodles for Wonton soup. The lady who took my simple order for soup and eggroll was curt and abrupt. Both items were the worst I have ever tasted. Not ever going back there! The 1 star is very generous.

There are two Chinese food restaurants in Byron(that I can vouch for anyway) and this is certainly the lesser of the two. We had basic food(chicken fried rice, pad tai, chicken so gai and some rice noodle soup with shrimp and some bok choy). Sadly the rice was flavourless, and same for the soup and pad tai. They did give a nice helping of shrimp though, so there’s that. The chicken so gai(for those of you who haven’t tried it — it’s basically grownup chicken balls) was good… but I don’t think battered chicken can be bad, really. While I know these are simple dishes, they could be a heck of a lot tastier. I went to pick up the food, so I can’t say much for their in-house service, but the place looked clean and there was a fair amount of people there for dinner. Apparently they can be busy around lunch time– they have a super cheap lunch special.

Non-descript décor in a non-descript strip mall in a non-descript part of Lambeth. Here, the food is the draw, not the ambience. Their specialties are Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine. No single item on the menu is over $ 20. We’ve been going there so long that my take-out menu is probably out of date, but the most expensive thing on it is the sizzling seafood volcano at $ 15, and that includes lobster. My favourite noodle dish is the Shanghai noodles. It’s worth the trip to Lambeth just for the crispy orange beef. The won ton soup is quite tasty, too. Service is welcoming and they remember preferences even when we haven’t visited in months. They can easily accommodate groups. Parking is free in the onsite lot. They are open for lunch Monday through Friday.
