The Ice house is a neat pub and restaurant in the heart of langley. It is situated on the top floor of a ice complex overlooking the two main rinks. This really gives it a sports bar feels and allows you to either enjoy a game on one of their TVs or the occasional game down on the rinks. The food of the Ice House is very good. I always enjoy what I have. The house specialty(in my opinion) is their Irish Nachos, made from house-made potato chips. While the pub section features a full bar, as an ale drinker, I find the draught selection disappointing. There is a selection of domestic and import lagers, but only two ales: Keith’s IPA and Kootenay Mountain. I find my self missing some of the local standards like Granville Island and OK spring(even Sleemans would do in a pinch). The service is inconsistent. With large groups(10−15+), I find the service to be relatively quick and remarkably attentive for the group’s size.(Kwantlen’s Langley campus is right across the street and they deal with hockey teams from downstairs. Large groups are their specialty) However, with smaller tables I find service to be not much quicker. In the evening I usually don’t mind or even notice, but if I’m in for a quick lunch or dinner between classes, the slow service usually turned to stress. Overall, worth visiting and revisiting.
