I’m sad to say that I’ve been to the Dog & Pony many times, both at the present location and the previous location in Ladner and usually find the service disappointing. Good selection of tack and gear, although it is way overpriced. I’d rather order directly from Europe online and avoid the hassle of dealing with a store. It seems like the staff are only interested in helping people they know. That being said, the options in the area for high end gear are limited, so if you don’t want to buy online, this is your best bet.

An institution in Ladner for many years, the equestrian community was very sad when the Dog & Pony permanently closed in 2011-ish. Safe to say we were all delighted when the store re-opened in Langley(under new ownership) in Dec 2012! The new store in Langley is very small, but packed to the rafters with tack, grooming supplies and everything wearable for the discriminating rider. A previous review noted that the D&P is expensive… yes and no. They tend to carry the higher-end brands and products and these are naturally more costly. There are many places to obtain basic or entry-level tack, but when you want something top shelf, this is the place to go.(And we all know the horseman’s creed: buy the best tack you can afford and then look after it!) Staff are knowledgable, new stock comes in regularly and special orders are welcome.
