T & D Tailors

Ended up being very disappointed. I took in 3 shirts to have the sleeves altered, so the woman in the store measured one shirt and told me to leave all 3. I thought it was weird that she didn’t pin all 3 shirts, but didn’t think too much of it. After picking them up I went home and tried them on. Sure enough, I ended up with 3 shirts with 3 different sleeve lengths. The one she pinned was perfect, but one of them had sleeves at least 3 inches shorter than the others. When I went back and showed them they accused me of washing the shirts and shrinking them. I tried to tell them that I never even wore the shirt in question (since the sleeves were way too short) and they were never washed. They obviously didn’t believe me and offered to do nothing except try to lengthen the sleeves, which didn’t work. The woman told me that it was basically impossible that they were cut wrong because they’ve been in business so long and don’t make mistakes like that. I agree that it’s surprising for a good tailor to mess up a simple alteration like shortening sleeves! I was expecting to see an offer to refund the tailoring charge on the shirt, or at least a sincere apology, but they offered nothing. I’m assuming mistakes like this are rare, but I feel that the way a company deals with issues is important and they way they dealt with this was unimpressive. I’ve been hoping to find a good tailor in Langley for a while but I guess I’m going back to Oakridge Tailors in Vancouver. It’s more expensive but at least I know it will be done right and I won’t have more ruined clothing.

Awesome shop, excellent work, great pricing, promptly done. Family business, long established in Langley. I send all my club uniforms & personal stuff here for alterations or repair. Very nice people.
