Melody’s House Calls

The Foot Care staff at House Calls are all very friendly and very knowledgeable. You can walk in to the salon location and ask questions about any of the products that they sell and which are the best ones for you to use, or even for a loved one, in addition to any questions you may have about your feet.
They sell the Footlogix line of products. I purchased the Shoe Deodorant Spray and it works wonders.
I haven’t had foot care done here myself, as I don’t require it yet, however, I will be looking into it for my parents — a little pampering for my mother!

I recently had major surgery and needed some homecare support. I chose House Calls because of the information on their website. I felt confident that I had made a good decision — unfortunately, that didn’t turn out to be the case. There are two issues that troublesome.
1) the lack of communication between the office and myself. I would leave messages with questions, but only receive a message back saying to call them. I’d call them and the person wouldn’t be in (even if I had missed her call by only a minute.) I am confined to bed, so sometimes can’t get to the phone on time and would ask for them to simply leave the answer to a very straightforward question, but that never happened. I did finally get an answer through an email which was appreciated.
2) the aide they sent out was not appropriate for my needs, but no one called to check and ask if it was working. The aide herself was very nice, but seemed suited to a patient who was just looking for companionship — not actual home help — e.g. cooking, cleaning, etc. I was more stressed about having to leave long complicated detailed instructions (and then still not having them followed) than I was by not having any care.
I thought perhaps my standards were unrealistic but I did start with another agency about a week later and it is like night and day. The aide I have now is amazing — proactive, a whiz at cooking, cleans what I ask and even what I don’t ask, suggests things to make my recovery more easy, etc.
If you are looking for a home care agency that provides both good office and home care — look elsewhere.
