Crackerz is a retail storefront specializing in mobile phone and computer repair and service. Crackerz also offers new and pre-​owned mobile devices and computers for sale.

Crackerz Phone Exchange program gives customers the ability to buy, sell or trade their unused or current mobile phones for other great phones. All previously used devices are tested and include a limited warranty.

History

Established in 2011.

Started by Ron Haufler and myself, Mark Chaplin after successfully completing the sale of our previous business. Ron and I have been business partners since 1998 and friends for even longer. Our first company started in my garage at the age of 22 and grew into a multi-​million dollar technology and manufacturing company. The company was listed on PROFIT magazine’s HOT 100 Companies in Canada for 3 years in a row, as well as Business in Vancouver Top 50 list for 3 years. The companies products were featured in TV shows like CSI: NY and Global News and featured in Stuff magazine, Popular Science and Entrepreneur magazine.

After selling the company in 2011, we were looking for something new to keep us busy. In the early days of the previous company we offered computer service on the side, just to cover the bills. We both had fond memories of that time and decided to start a tech service shop, which quickly stated to focus on phones. The rest is history.

Mark was trained in Engineering at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and worked as an Engineer at a leading medical device manufacturer. In 1999, Mark left that career to dedicate his time and experience to design and develop cutting edge automated equipment. Mark was named CEO in 2000 and grew the company to the industry leader in its market. Mark was named one of Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40 by Business in Vancouver magazine in 2004. Under his leadership, the company expanded its markets to include Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. The company was listed on PROFIT magazine HOT 100 Companies for 3 consecutive years.
