A bit expensive with a fantastic view! Moraine Lake Lodge is what it is. It’s a lodge at Moraine Lake! Well it started as a teahouse in 1912 with some tent facilities. Then later on throughout the years more cabins were built. It wasn’t until 1988 that there was a huge redevelopment of Moraine Lake Lodge. The new lodge and cabins were designed by Arthur Erickson which is what we now have today. The good *The lodge employees were incredibly nice *They drive you to your cabin with your luggage(you’re in a golf cart and the hills are steep so it’s like a mini Indiana Jones adventure ride). This also applies when you’re ready to check out of the room, they will come by in a golf cart to pick you up along with your luggage *Inside our cabin was really nice and well decorated *Aveda products in bathroom *There’s a little library in the main lodge *Free bottle of wine in our cabin *Complimentary breakfast *The beef tenderloin($ 38) at the dining room was amazing. It was unbelievably tender and juicy. Seriously the best I’ve ever had! *Fantastic view of Moraine Lake from our room *Walking distance to Moraine Lake. Literally a minute away since the lake is basically the front yard. The bad *Some servers at the restaurant are not very good at hiding their gossiping *Spider near the fireplace in our cabin *There is a large raven that hangs out outside the restaurant I didn’t see the raven be of any harm. But from what I’ve heard from the lodge employees, they’ve flown away with slippers and food before. So don’t leave stuff on the patio! If you happen to see squirrels on the trail, they will beg you for food. It really is cute because they stand and have their hands raised up. The ones I’ve seen in SoCal usually just run all over the place. At $ 700 a night, it’s like you’re paying for the location. I must say that it was worth it though. My sister and I got the deluxe cabins that were away from the main lodge. My parents also had their own separate cabin. Also a quick note, the inside of the cabin was not orange. The lighting made it seem so. The walls are actually beige color. There’s also no TV and no phones in the rooms but they do have Wi-Fi. Overall, this is a nice lodge! I can’t blame the critters since you’re up there with nature. Not sure if I would stay here again but it was nice to overlook the lake from our room!
