I have been to this restaurant twice now and have really enjoyed both experiences. The atmosphere is calming, music isn’t too loud but lively, service is excellent, and the food is well above average. They haven’t modified the space very much since Peter Martin’s 20 King, but the design holds up well. The restaurant is new, so isn’t too busy I think because most people haven’t heard of it. The menu is a bit out of the ordinary with twists on classics like risotto and pork and beans that are much fancier and dimensional than their home-style versions. They have a good, but not great beer selection, and the cocktails could use some stiffening(aka, more liquor!). Didn’t have desert because we were stuffed from dinner. Portion sizes aren’t enormous, but the dishes we had were very rich and filling. The menu changed substantially since I was there in the summer, with more winter/fall themed dishes. This is welcome since I really dislike when menus stay the same year ’round without introducing ingredients that are a-plenty in the KW region seasonally. Definitely will re-visit.
