We sell treadmills, elliptical cross-​trainers, exercise bikes, weight training equipment and fitness accessories. We serve Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and surrounding areas. As Canada’s oldest independent exercise equipment store we look forward to helping you get off the couch and become fitter, stronger and healthier.

History

Established in 1985.

HomeFit Exercise Equipment first opened the doors in fall of 1985, across the street from the historic Walper Terrace Hotel on Queen Street in Kitchener, Ontario.

From this tiny… and we mean tiny… spot, people from all over the Kitchener-​Waterloo area came to shop for quality exercise equipment … and bikes!

To complement the seasonal nature of exercise equipment sales, John Carter, founder of HomeFit sold high-​quality outdoor bicycles. After several years though, John returned to selling only treadmills, exercise bikes and weight training equipment.

Just before the turn of the 21^st century, HomeFit moved to its current location on Victoria Street North to a much bigger, brighter and more accommodating location.

Sadly, in May of 2012, John Carter passed away from cancer at the young age of 60. Before his passing, John worked to ensure his legacy lived on in the hands of Kim Neziol, his trusted sales manager of 25 years.

Business Owner

Kim has been helping residents of Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph and surrounding areas become fitter, stronger and healthier since 1990.

For 25 years, she worked as HomeFit’s sales manager before purchasing the business, with her husband Dave, from John Carter, the founder of HomeFit.

Prior to joining HomeFit, Kim was a collegiate athlete, competing in basketball at Laurier University.
