Awesome spot. either for a quick beer or a meal with the family. Good service and good pub food.

Off the beaten path in the west end of Kingston sits a nondescript pub. A local took me here and we had some wings and Rickards. Wonderful classic Brit pub. Probably not something on the tourist path for sure unless one is making the trek down to Prince Edward County or the Route 2-to-Toronto path. The wings are actually the sleeper here. not classic in the Buffalo sense, but quite good.

My family is a huge pub fan, so we decided to try out this pub for the first time. The restaurant is quite cozy, and as soon as you enter you’re met with a British telephone booth. The British theme is complimented with a fairly British menu, which includes food ranging from Shepherds’ pie to more Canadian pub food(burgers & fries). The food itself is tasty enough but it’s definitely coming out of a bag. The Guiness sauce on my dad’s shepherds pie was definitely lacking beer and I’m sure was in a powder form moments before it was served. But that being said, the food was still tasty and this restaurant isn’t the kind of place where you go to get high-end food to begin with. For a typical pub, this place has pretty decent(great service). I wish the food was a little better, but then the service and atmosphere made that up for me. Bring some friends, buy some beers, and you’ll have a great time.
