Howard Johnson Inn Kingston

Booked a hotel room here through the Expedia app. Rolled up at 1 am dead tired and was greeted by a staff member who was disgruntled, disorganized and frantic. She was mad expedia booked a room despite them not having any, and took that out on me a little. We then had to hear all about their room with a broken shower and the other room with the broken AC and how she was there working alone. UGh. Next hotel we stayed at informed us it was her fault for not closing down the rooms on expedia, not expedia’s fault as she would have us believe. Over all from the outside, a motel style dive place that is reasonably priced though. staff needs to learn to be professional!

Not much amenities but the staff was friendly and the room was nice. Appeared to be recently remodeled with tile, hardwood flooring, and tan/​red paint. It did have a bit of a musky smell that I’ve noticed in hotels near large bodies of water. Cable options could have been better. We arrived early and were hoping for some downtime and channel surfing but all we could find was news channels.
