We are Kingston and area’s oldest alternative energy company selling and installing product into customer’s homes including Solar Hot Water systems for your home and your pool; solar and wind electrical systems for your home, business, cottage or camp.

Our showroom features over 35 burning (pellet, wood and gas) stoves, fireplaces and inserts, and many more floor models. On June 23rd, 2008 we have Dr. David Suzuki drop by to help us «flip the switch» to become Kingston’s first business to sell solar and wind power back to the grid. Drop by and see our 2 kilowatt grid tied solar array, our 1.9 grid tied wind turbine, our single panel solar hot water system and our 500 watt solar powered battery back up.

Growing out of a mid 1970s wood stove business, Renewable Energy of Plum Hollow has become Eastern Ontario’s leader in sustainable energy and resource conservation technology. We are committed to helping you find practical ways to incorporate «appropriate technologies» into your life style. We are a retail store located in Kingston Ontario, Canada. We sell, install and service wood, pellet and gas appliances as well as solar microFIT, solar water heaters and wind turbines. We pride ourselves on having W.E.T.T. certified installers and advisors on staff to provide you with sound advice and safe wood and pellet appliance installations. Recently amalgamated with Friendly Fires and now have three locations: Kingston, Peterborough & Cobourg. Servicing fireplaces, solar, and BBQ’s.

Business Owner

When Brad began in the industry, he focused only on the pellet appliances and solar/​wind energy equipment; responsible for selling, servicing and installing. Over the years, he has helped train many service persons and installers and has spoken at many Local and National symposiums about pellet, wood and alternative energy appliances.

From 2002 until 2010, Brad was a member of the national board for Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc. (WETT). WETT is a non-​profit training and education association that promotes the safe and effective use of wood burning systems in Canada. Brad is currently involved with a community group in Kingston looking at local production of switch grass pellets, to be used as a home heating fuel in biomass heaters.

In June 2008, Brad’s business hit another milestone when they became the first business in the city of Kingston to sell power created from their two-​kilowatt solar array and their 1.9 kilowatt wind generator back to the grid. Brad was honoured when re
