The prices are okay, service at point of sale is seemingly decent. However, my mother purchased several items from this store over the past couple of years, and was pressured into buying a «Money Back Extended Service Plan» when buying a TV — she would apparently get a refund at the end of 3 years if she didn’t use it. After 3 years, she called the store(they don’t remind you), and they said she had to apply online for the refund. After going through that process, she was notified she had the warranty price as a store credit(NOT a refund), and she would be required to spend $ 400 to even use it. The worst part is, is that she was told the SAME thing by a DIFFERENT representative when buying a different TV, so will have another warranty«money back» period coming up soon — and I’ll bet she can’t combine them. We’ve heard the same story from several other customers, so clearly this is not isolated to one or two sales reps, nor is it isolated to a couple instances. We’ve contacted several people including the store manager about this, and they’re unwilling to do anything. Needless to say we won’t be shopping there any more, but for anyone who chooses to — be aware of everything you’re agreeing to.

Visions. I do a lot of price comparisons, and Visions almost always comes out on top for electronics pricing. I’ve had to go there a couple times to buy things that no one else had, and my experiences have never been amazing. The staff is friendly enough, but I guess they seem sort of «fake», and really love to spew sales talk drivel. I went there once to buy a laptop, and when I was about to pay for it, the salesperson tried to convince me for about 2 minutes straight to get a cell phone with TELUS. I said«no» the first time he asked if I wanted one, but he kept on going on and on and on, saying, «You look like you could use a new cell phone! We have some really awesome ones! How about your friend here, would she like one? No? Awwwww, too bad!» I can accept a salesperson asking once, but to keep going after I decline is really pushing it. I only go here as a last resort now.

If you are in the market for a new TV, stereo or other electronics, don’t overlook Visions. When it comes to electronics, most big box stores are close on the price, but these guys separate themselves with exceptional service. Was helping my Dad buy a home entertainment system, TV included and found FutureShop to be a waste of time. They didn’t want to give any sort of package deal since we were dropping about $ 4000. Had the attitude of «that’s the price» and when we walked out the young kid was shocked we didn’t buy it. Anyways, on to Visions and the Assistant Manager Big Mike was fantastic. Found the same TV we wanted, for less, a better stereo system, for less and he threw in all the cables and a Tom Tom GPS for free. But the real service came when after a couple days the amp shorted out(happens with electronics) and I made a quick call to Big Mike and explained what happen. We brought just the amp back and Mike took a new one straight out of the box and swapped it. Haven’t had a problem since. One of the few places I have experienced great service in Kelowna.
