First off… don’t be in a rush to eat and get out. The service here is mediocre at best. Also… they let people smoke on the patio, which for us non smokers sucks. My buddy and I ordered a poutine and chicken strips. Pubs usually get things like this out in less than 10 – 12 minutes. After the 25 minute mark, I had to ask where is our food. That’s pretty lame. The poutine was good as they actually used cheese curds and not passing off shredded mozza as curds. The strips looked like Costco ones. The servers never check up on you or remove dirty dishes, but only return to give you the bill. Heck… she was so inattentive, she left the debit terminal with us at the table and could have switched it out for one that scans cards for what it was worth. Not even a «thanks» or a «goodbye».

Our very large group of about 20 stopped here for lunch on the drive home from Weaver Creek. Even without any advance notice, the servers seem happy to see us and jumped right into action moving tables around to accommodate us. While pretty much the standard pub fare menu, everything was very good, and there was also a good variety of beers on tap. The environment is a mix of pub and warm country cabin – nothing fancy, just casual and comfortable. Service was absolutely excellent, very friendly and attentive the entire time. Free wi-fi was also an unexpected bonus given very poor mobile coverage on all carriers in the immediate area.

I’ve been here to eat a couple times for dinner as there aren’t a lot of options if you are staying in the area. They offer good classic pub fare here. The portions are generous if you are hungry. The servers have always been lovely and delightful. The exterior is nice and rustic. The interior needs some upgrading. Honestly carpet and fabric seat covers in a pub are never a good idea. I do like the burl wood tables.

Come prepared with time. There is good blue and good food here. The service staff are very nice, but on occasion overwhelmed even with two tables. So thing take a little time. I eaten here on several occasions and the food is constant so is the slow service. When you get it is great but you have to be patient… so bring a book or friends. There is a coin op pool table in the centre that can be annoying to some but it is a pub after all. Pull tabs, keno and video poker are also found within. Variety on the menu I recommend the nachos, the wings and the newest additions… the pizza. The staple is the Sasquatch burger which is excellent. What I don’t recommend is the burger special… it is not of the same cut as the on the menu burgers and for the value of a cheap burger it really is not good. Have fun and good like. It’s a logger/biker/tourist pub and it older in décor. Has a new outdoor patio also.

This review is for the pub at the Sasquatch Inn. This pub does not look like much from the inside or out really. It is decorated with lots of old logging paraphernalia as it caters to the logging camp at the north end of Harrison Lake. The road beside the inn heads straight up the west side of the lake past the logging camp(that is if you drive long enough with a 4×4). This is also a favorite stop for large groups of bikers on their Harleys(or other bikes) on their summer bike tours(I don’t mean gangs). But if you have been bird watching or camping in the area you really should stop in. There food is always pretty darn good. It is not fancy food but standard pub fair. Really what you would expect from a place that is this far out of the way! The beer selection is limited here too but again its out of the way. So if big loggers or leather wearing Harley riding people don’t scare you off(and they shouldn’t) then stop in for a bite and a brew. You wont regret it.
