History

Established in 2002.

Started in the summer of 2002 by Chef Chantel Mackay. Chantel is an honours graduate from Humber College and has earned her place in the culinary world through dedicated training and years of hard work. Started due to a grave allergic reaction to preservatives and unable to find an established business dedicated to organic foods and wellness, Chantel began this business to fill that need.

An active member of the community, Chantel also makes time to support her surrounding charity partners. She is actively involved in Breast Cancer research and early detection causes.

Sunflower Catering is more of a movement than a corporate company, run by one woman with a passion to heal not only the body but the soul as well.

Chantel has been featured twice in the Hamilton Spectator’s GO section highlighting Sunflower Catering. We are a company that cares. Focusing on the needs of each client in a truly personal way. We hope that you consider us for your next event.

Business Owner

Chantel was raised in Hamilton and has a huge passion for her city. An avid outdoors woman, she loves nature and taking in all of the amazing features Hamilton has to offer! Ask her anything Hamilton Conservation related and she most likely has a great answer for you!

Developing a serious anaphylactic reaction to food chemicals and preservatives created a drive in this Chef to create a business that would educate and serve clients in a healthy way.

She is constantly donating time and resources to causes she feels deeply about especially those concerning Women and Children.

Her best culinary achievements include a Bronze Medal in Toronto’s Culinary Salon in 2007
