They’ve taken such good care of my father-in-law here. Both at the Cancer Center and here at the hospital. The cafeteria on the bottom floor is surprisingly comfortable and good(all day breakfast! Woo!). One complaint is fairly minor: some of the public bathrooms can sometimes need more attention. The other is more of a personal annoyance. Here’s the thing: my father-in-law is dying. Literally he us not with us more than a few weeks as of this writing, and we had a nurse give us a hard time for taking him out for a smoke. Said we were enabling him. Now, we think there’s no reason to deny a dying man simple pleasures. I mean really – what’s it going to do? kill him? :/It’s been straightened out, but it was incredibly thoughtless of her. Anyhow, most people have been great, so this really isn’t the hospital’s fault. The lesson here I guess is to trust that these people are professional and largely caring, but that you should not hesitate even for a moment to speak your mind if needed, either.
