Hamilton Doula Group offers birth and postpartum doula support, a variety of childbirth education options including HypnoBirthing classes and birth support, placenta services and birth photography. Our service area covers Hamilton, Halton, Grimsby and Caledonia regions. Placenta services are offered in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Niagara, Guelph, Kitchener-​Waterloo, Brantford, Simcoe areas.

History

Established in 2011.

Angela Andersson and Leanne Palmerston blended their businesses in 2011 to offer families in Hamilton and surrounding area better support as they transitioned to parenthood. They envisioned a company that provided superior service to birthing and new families and helped them find information, comfort and guidance in their exciting and sometimes bewildering journeys.

Meet the Business Owner

Angela A.

Business Owner

Angela believes all women deserve to birth with confidence, without fear and with positive, calm and nurturing support. She is the co-​founder of Hamilton Doula Group, a DONA-​trained birth doula, a member of DONA (Doulas of North America), and a certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner. She relishes her time behind the camera as a birth photographer, and teaches birth-​related workshops. In the community, Angela has been a member of the Hamilton Regional Lactation Committee. She has volunteered on the Board of Directors of Doula C.A.R.E. as Vice President and served a term as the Doula C.A.R.E. Regional Representative for Hamilton-​Wentworth.

In addition to doula work, Angela was the founder of the Hamilton Babywearers, and enjoys teaching parents and caregivers how to have a contented baby and more freedom through the safe use of slings, pouchs and wraps. She has been involved in numerous babywearing workshops and demonstrations since 2005.
