The salon is the perfect location & all the staff are very friendly. My stlyist Lori is wonderful, gently makes suggestions giving her experienced opinion. I walk away feeling 10 years younger.

I have been to this salon and visited one stylist in particular in the past, but have since moved away. I was back in town and looking for a trim and possibly highlights. I wasn’t able to get in with the same stylist so I asked for someone with experience cutting curly hair. I hit the jackpot! I wanted a TRIM. Amie Nelson was AMAZING! I’m trying to grow my hair and it doesn’t grow very fast at all. Amie was able to add shape and definition without chopping a lot off the length. We chatted about subtle peek-a-boo highlights and she had me convinced I could walk away with something awesome. Needless to say I walked away with a nice haircut and subtle highlights that have me feelin’ stylish for summer! the best part was I didn’t pay an arm and a leg either. I was able to get a cut and ten foils for the price I’ve paid for a trim at other places. Koodos to Amie and the rest of the gang at Head Shoppe Scotia Square!

When it homes to hair stylists, I have difficulty staying monogamous. I rarely visit the same person twice, mainly because I’m searching for the holy quartet of salon attributes: — product(how good does my hair look at the end) — pace(I’m not interested in spending 2 hours in the chair) — proximity(if I can’t walk there in 15 minutes, I will not go to there) — price(I can’t afford any $ 100 haircuts) Well… I think I found it. I dropped in for a lunch-time cut yesterday. The Golden Clipper, or «GC» is in Scotia Square, minutes from my office. Jaime the stylist was friendly and fast. I showed her a picture and she basically gave me that exact cut/style in about 30 minutes. I’ve shown pictures to stylists before and come out with hair that didn’t even loosely resemble what I asked for, so this was a major victory. To round out my checklist, it was also extremely affordable — prices range from $ 24.45-$ 50.90 for a cut/style depending on the seniority of the stylist. After my positive experience, I think I may have to cease my cheatin’ ways and return to the Golden Clipper for my next cut.

Finding a good stylist is difficult so I was happy when I found the Golden Clipper not far from my office. I’ve seen a number of stylists here. I’ve rarely had difficulty getting an appointment scheduled and all the staff have been very friendly.

This is where my fiancé goes to get his hair did. After a few flubs at different barber shops, he decided to go the salon route and try this conveniently located salon. Since coming here, he’s had nothing but good results– not too short, not harsh clipper cuts, just a flattering textured cut. Also, his stylist has suggested American Crew products to help keep his hair looking fly without the goopy mess from gel. And the price is quite decent– $ 25, and that includes a head massage(lucky him!) As for me, I haven’t tried the salon. The services are limited here, it’s simply a cut n’ color kind of place, and I like to indulge a little more when it comes to salon trips. Plus, the products are Redken, brand which are a definite no-no for me because of an allergy. For those who like to keep things simple and affordable(particularly the guys), this salon might be just the ticket.
