Long-​time fans of the north end location, my husband and I were thrilled to have Tarek’s open even closer to home.
The food is great. I love it, hubby loves it, and both of the kids love it. I always say I’m going to try something new and I always order the beef shawarma pita. I love it. My husband usually gets a shawarma plate, and the kids will eat pretty well everything on the menu.
We have never eaten in at this location, but there are several tables and booths available.
My only tiny little complaint is that they close at 7, which is pretty early on the weekend. However I understand that this is a family run business, so with a little advance planning we can still enjoy the delicious food.
And it’s a bit odd that the sign out front says Tarek’s Gourmet Pizza, but there isn’t any pizza to be had, to my knowledge at least. And I’m sure there pizza would be fantastic, but I am actually really happy that they don’t offer pizza and do offer all the things that make their other location so fabulous. Spryfield isn’t lacking for pizza, and Tarek’s is a very welcome change.

What does Spryfield do when their beloved KFC shuts down? Invite Tarek’s in, of course!
Tarek’s opened in May, in my ‘hood, and we’ve already been to the new location 4 or 5 times. As always, the food is simply fantastic. The menu is huge with wraps (OMG GOOD!), soups, salads, plates of delicious delicacies, and hummus. Oh their hummus is so tasty!!! And there’s more — felafels, apps, and rumours of pizza coming soon. There’s just so much food! And it’s always hot, fresh, flavorful and delicious. The service is wonderful and friendly. And they’ll remember who you are!
This location is a pretty good size and they have some booths and tables around so you can eat-​in or take-​out. The new Tarek’s is a fabulous addition to Spryfield and unlike the other location — this is NOT cash only! They take cash or debit, meaning that even if you forget to visit the bank machine you can still stuff your face with delicious garlicly, hummusy goodness!
