I wish I could give 0 stars. Worst Subway ever, so slow it’s ridiculous. Went there today and the guy messed up the bread so bad he had to throw the first piece out than mangled the next price of bread he gave me and everything literally leaked out of it in the bag because the guy didn’t wrap it correctly. Next, the vegetables now I understand you can’t have all the vegetables in stock on your sub but come on, you’re paying to(and I quote Subway) ‘have it your way’ and you get ‘scolded’ when you ask for more? Lol every other Subway will give you what you ask for, this one tries to limit you to 3 pickles on a foot long? What is that, might as well not even have any pickles. Get your crap together because no one likes this Subway. Also, the other day I asked the guy for more sauce and he said ‘well I’m not going to give you the whole bottle’, rude.

Unfortunate staff issues. Subway is subway… nothing special, nothing surprising, should be quite similar across the board. Went here for some quick sandwiches before a play, and although there were only a few others there, it took forever to be served. To top it off, while ordering, the«sandwich artist» placed a few pickles onto a foot-long sandwich(3 on each half), when asked if I could have a few extra added, he was completely confused, and said that he didn’t know how to charge for extra pickles. He then continued to charge me 80 cents for extra meat… on a veggie sandwich… Please train your staff better.

It’s… well, quite frankly, sometimes this place is like an alternate universe. One day you walk in and it’s dead quiet and there are four staff working, all who are perky and helpful. The next day, it’s insanely busy and there’s only one person working and they are decided not perky. I understand the downtown location leaves them subject to the whims of the downtown crowd but even in the middle of a weekday afternoon, something feels just«off.» Going in on a weekend night? Forget about it. Staff are too busy with downtown party goers to cope, leaving the place a mess(though that’s not exclusive to weekend nights). Still, if you’re getting it to go and can wait in line, it’s the usual Subway fare. Oddly, this is one of those Subways that never seem to run out of food.

Sometimes, you’re tired of the same old packed sandwich. Sometimes, you just want a sandwich made by someone else. This Subway has had some troubled times. Up until a few months ago, the staff was horrendous. I’m talking, «grubby-looking disheveled guys that picked their noses whilst standing in front of the store smoking a doobie», horrendous. The service was awful and slow, and many mornings at 7:30AM I would walk by an empty, closed restaurant, which is supposed to open at 7AM to serve breakfast. Their delicious chocolate chip cookies, while totally unhealthy for you, kept calling me back despite the crappy service. I’m happy to say that it appears that they have had a new staff for some time now, and that the service has vastly improved. It’s still a slow place during lunch hour, which lines up to the door most days. At least I no longer have to worry if the sketchy sandwich artist is going to drool over my lunch because he’s too stoned to remember to swallow.

I really hate giving bad reviews… that being said it’s trashin’ time. I’ve been to this Subway a few times mostly last year when renovating the tea house. Every time I went in the counter staff have been very unfriendly, grumpy and short(not in height). The place has been dirty with uncleaned tables and a mess behind the counter. Gross. I won’t even comment on the state of the washrooms. I’d much rather walk the 4 stores down the street for a Pita.
