We represent contemporary professional Canadian artists in our gallery, with an emphasis on Nova Scotian artists. We also provide professional custom framing services. With over 35 years experience in these fields, we can help with developing fine art collections, as well as with the presentation, care, and protection of one’s valuable works of art through our framing services. We represent a stylistically diverse group of artists with works including high realism, interpretive representation, and abstraction. Paintings, sculpture, ceramics, original prints and photographs can all be found in the gallery. Our selection of framing options is the largest in the region, and we are very experienced in all genres of custom framing, and can always provide knowledgeable consultation.

History

Established in 1979.

First established as a custom framing shop called Hall of Frame, owner Phil Secord decided to expand and establish Secord Gallery in 1992. His early career experience in galleries made the expansion a natural step. Motivated by a love of art and a strong desire to put artists and collectors together, the gallery has become one of Nova Scotia’s leading art houses. Custom framing is a natural complement to fine art, and that part of the business has a fine reputation as a small quality shop. We are still at our original location after 35 years.
