Second Cup

This place is better then where it was before back in the day. Love the staff, their drinks and also love the different little things they have on the tip charges.

It takes a lot for me to rate a coffee shop (that is not Tim’s) less than 4 stars. Big fan of coffee and everything that has to do with it. I have always been a fan of Second Cup, enjoying it wherever I go in Canada but this one is just «Meh.» One of the staff members was rude and quick to cut me off when I asked a question about how they made their maple latte; the tables had crumbs and it was pretty cold for a coffee place. I stuck it out for 30 min or so reading my book but was just uncomfortable and I wasn’t entirely sure there was actually any espresso in my latte.
On a second visit, through their drive though, I was the second car in a line up, and the attendant was chatting with the people in front of me for at least 5 minutes. I shut off my car and waited. I ordered a simple black medium roast– and when I drove up to the window I waited for another 2 – 3 minutes. I shut off my car again and waited. Not what I would have expected for drive through service.
Common Second Cup! You guys can do way better than this!

My daughter and I took a visit prior to Christmas to the newest Second Cup on the block. in Bayers Lake! What a wonderfully laid out space they have. I hate to say it… but…I think I liked the space over **starbucks**. ssssshhhhhhhhhh. They have several nice big comfy chairs, a cozy fireplace place, and its quite a large open space.
We went to try their newest hot drink The Smores Hot Chocolate. We’d heard rave reviews on this drink. My daughter absolutely loved it.
I went out on a whim and tried the Eggnog Latte. Im not typically an egg nog fan (well havent had it in many many years since I decided not to like it. LOL). Anyway-​I was pleasantly surprised with it. It was quite delicious! Ive been craving another even since that visit!
So hey – maybe I do like Egg Nog after all now???

I’m so happy to have another coffee shop option aside from Starbucks in the Clayton Park/Bayer’s Lake area.
They have a great atmosphere, and the staff are always upbeat. Sadly, their food offerings are the same as any other international chain.
This neighbourhood needs an injection of a local coffee shop with homemade baked goods, great coffee and some atmosphere. Until that happens, Second Cup has ²⁄₃ bases covered which is good enough for me!
