Eclectic little corner store with amazing shockingly inexpensive ice cream. They also do milkshakes, blizzards, over 40 flavours of soft serve, their own gelato and banana splits! My gigantic«single scoop» only cost me $ 1.99, and they put an entire twix bar(well, 2 technically) in my friend’s «small» blizzard/mcflurry type thing! Must go!

This ain’t no one trick pony. Robin’s Dairy Bar had me in an initial state of uncertainty as I made an entry through its Quinpool Street entrance. It appears as a tight fitted convenient store with its layout and varied assortments of chips, soda and chocolate treats. But look a little further, and Robin’s reveals a complete smorgasborg of paraphernalia. Pleather purses priced upwards of $ 45, glam faux-gold watches and jewelry faux-glistening, greeting cards, cigarettes– all this and other random gadgets made for a lot to look at. It was almost as if a collection of NYC Street Vendors had pooled all of their product under one roof. I’ll give it to Robin, she does cover a lot of ground, and is certainly not the average convenience store. And of course, my primary reason in popping in was to investigate the cool treats. Besides ample ice cream opportunity, homemade gelato is sold in a gorgeous rainbow of flavours. I was sad to discover they did not carry my all time favourite, Peanut Butter Fudge Crunch; however, the counter girl let me in on the full scoop of new flavours they were anticipating. Apparently, Robyn’s is switching from Farmers to Scotsburn ice cream, who have just issued a shortlist of new, inventive flavours. As the counter gal read, described and showed pictures of these brand new flavours that would be hitting the shelves, my sweet tooth started kicking in. I’m not sure who creates such mouthwatering concoctions of chocolate, caramel and the like… but Scotsburn is definitely keeping it fresh. I wish I could reiterate the in-depth descriptions, but after a certain point, I was just lost in one big ice cream fantasy. Despite its randomness, Robyn’s is a great stop for cold treats. Its got a flavour for every sweet tooth, and the best service! The girl working the counter was just a doll, and got excited with me as we went through the listing of new ice creams. Not sure if I’d find a use for the gold-bling bracelets, but I’ll definitely be in for my next iced craving.

This convenience store provides some bizarre contributions to the corner store scene. Hand bags, a showcase with chincy jewelry, a large array of greeting cards — not to mention your average array of goods like pop and chips, cigarettes and gum. Did I mention they also carry all the ice cream a fiend could ask for? I popped by today to check out their iced treat selection, and my, what an extensive assortment. They have a number of gelato flavors, as well as regular ice cream and soft served. I didn’t try it, but consensus says their cold products are topnotch. Umm… I think they also sell some baseball caps? I don’t know who their target market is, but they’ve really got a plethora of bases covered. There’s also a curtained off area… maybe there’s an adult section in the mix at Robyn’s Dairy Bar.

Robyn’s Dairy Bar I have popped into the buy a few cards before. They have a different selection than Shoppers etc. The main draw now with the weather getting nicer is the gelato, chocolate, need I say anymore. They serve regular ice-cream, soft, which is another favourite of ours. This is a small spot, but has lots of great treats.

I’m almost entirely in agreement with Liz S. on this one, Robyn’s Dairy Bar has delicious gelato. With Diomio closed out, Robyn’s is one of the only gelato hot spots in town and they hold their own on the deliciousness scale. Robyn’s also sell a bizarrely large amount of cards, if you’re looking for a special card for that special some one while eating a tasty gelato, this may be your spot! If you’re wondering where Liz and I don’t see eye to eye, it’s in the neighbors. Bramoso is delicious, trust me.
