Charged 15 cents for a side of sauce ! Are you kidding me ? That just cost you 50 packs of free Splenda

If I didn’t live in the boonies and had another fast food choice I would avoid this place entirely. Although historically slow in epic proportions in the drive through, they have certainly increased their speed. Unfortunately it has come at the cost of order accuracy. No word of a lie, easily 1⁄3 of orders in drive through are messed up in some way. Usually a missing fries, missing kids drink, onions somewhere they shouldn’t be, or most often –sugar in my 2 cream only coffee. However there have been a few doosies. Top screw ups. 1. Egg(less) Bacon & Egg Bagels. Twice. 2. Meat(less) Hamburgers. 3. Drink(less) kids meal combos(makes the list because kids are devastated not to get their drink when I’m too far away to go back). I fully understand errors happen in this type of fast paced high volume business, however when the repeated errors are met with snotty looks from the counter staff when you point out the drive through error,(to the point where you feel you are inconveniencing them by asking for what you paid) it’s too much. Wake up folks, cause a monopoly will only get you through for so long.

This McD’s does often seem slower than others, as did the DQ(I miss you!) and other local fast food places here. The food is what I would expect from this restaurant. I want to give a shout out to the«mature»(read: over 40 years old) woman who works the drive thru window some weekend mornings — you are terrific! P. S. Nov 7: went for breakfast at McD’s today as Smitty’s was full. Quality and service were per usual but the new renovations look very nice — appeals more to adults and no sign of Ronald McD. Watch out for the floors as the tiles are very slippery. The new roof is also leaking.

Service is standard fare for a McDonalds, but the nuggets and fries here often seem«old». Of the 10 nuggets i had, only 4 – 5 of them seemed to be really fresh, the fries were the same. Also, this is the FIRST McDonald’s I’ve been to that charges for sauce. You get 2 «free» sauces with your 10 piece meal, i wanted 2 Sweet & Sour sauces for my nuggest and a Honey for my fries(not a huge ketchup fan) I was told«you only get 2 free» the extra one is 10 cents. 10 cents isn’t much, but it will stop me from coming back! Considering i can sit and empty a ketchup dispenser on a tray and not be charged i find it pretty petty they are charging for extra sauces. I asked what else they charge for and here is the quick list from memory: Tomato: 15 cents McChicken Sauce: 15 Cents Sauce on a burger it doesnt come with: 15 cents Sweet & Sour, Honey or BBQ: 10 Cents I have to say, it’s amazing McDonalds lets their stores make stuff up like this. The staff even found it amusing laughing about having to charge people for tomatos. Terrible

Out of the dozens of McDonalds in the Halifax Regional Municipality, I think it’s safe to say that the Tantallon McDonalds takes the award for worst service… This statement is not made based on a single observation, but rather numerous observations and experiences by myself and others. The service is so slow — and not because the restaurant is busy, because typically it isn’t too bad. In addition to being slow, it’s not uncommon to end up with wrong items or missing items altogether. The staff, who are often high school students, tend to demonstrate very little initiate and low competence, and seem to lack extreme motivation. If possible, you’ll want to avoid going here, but should you decide otherwise, than definitely be prepared for the worst…
