Specialties
Local Source Market provides seasonal fruit and vegetables, free-range meat, cheese, organic artisan bread and homemade prepared foods, preserved & fresh. Come in and enjoy our freshly made soups, salads, panini, pastries and hot & cold drinks in our beautiful space, or take them with you.
Local Source Catering has been providing Nova Scotia with local food for the past three years. Since we’ve moved our kitchen into the North End of Halifax, we have developed our space into a market, gallery & venue for our locally grown style.
By the sheer love of food and the desire to foster a local food culture, Local Source Market work s with local food producers the bring Halifax healthy, real food. Buying local food minimizes waste, fosters a vibrant local economy, allows consumers to actively vote with their dollars, reduces environmental impacts and reconnects our lives with the seasons.

Sean Gallagher, Founder
Local Source Market & Bakery
Self Taught Entrepreneur & Chef
By operating an ethical food business that supports local agriculture, Sean believes that the marketplace will ultimately act as the spearhead toward a more self sustained, diverse local food system. By helping to promote and exemplify seasonal food preparation and by purveying only seasonal, bio-regional food, Local Source is helping to shift ‘conventional’ food dollars back toward a local economic stimulator: the ‘alternative food network’ (as known as local food).
