Certainly one of the gems of the new and improved food court at Scotia Square. I have been enjoying the Seoul Chicken here since I started working downtown in 2008 and it never fails to disappoint. If you are looking for a tasty meal with generous portions at a good price then look no further!

Walked by this place in the Scotia Square food court a hundred times and didn’t try it for whatever reason. This place is awesome. I only had the options of two dishes when I ordered, spicy pork and Seoul chicken, I went with the chicken. It came with a side of rice, cabbage salad and pieces of potato. The lady at the counter didn’t speak English well, but she had a huge smile and was very sweet. I think it came to about $ 9. The cabbage salad was a bit plain but it satisfied my need to eat a side of veggies with everything. The pieces of potato are the standard ones you see as a side dish at most korean restaurants, they’re sweet and tasty. The Seoul chicken though, holy shit. I am hooked. I’ve been back twice already… since yesterday. Its sweet, spicy, garlicky, tender pieces of chicken in this amazing sauce. Go try it. Now. My only wish is that they had more than 2 dish options available.

If it’s a Tuesday, it’s usually a good bet that my lunch comes from Korea Gardens, as I really enjoy Seoul Chicken Tuesday. The line can seem a little long and intimidating but in my experience long lines = good food. The staff here are awesome, super sweet, very efficient and I’ve noticed they have many of the regular’s orders down pat. The dish comes with a small cabbage salad, potatoes, the option of steamed or fried rice(they let you do ½ & ½ if you wish) the delicious Seoul Chicken and the choice of either a potato patty or dumplings. It’s super filling and comes to $ 7, taxes in. A pretty great deal, in my opinion. While I have yet to try their other dishes, the options are lemon chicken, spicy chicken, spicy pork, some sort of beef dish, red shrimp and bi bim bap.

Korea Garden is tied in my book with Kebab Kitchen for the best place to eat in the Scotia Square food court. I just got a new job so I’m going to miss these places. I would go back and forth between the two just to keep the variety factor alive. But I could easily eat it every day for lunch for a week or two before needing to have something else. The one thing you’ll notice above all else is the service. I’m a pretty shy person so I never asked the woman who owns it her name. But she is the most polite person I have ever met in my life. I know it’s physically impossible for her to not be as happy as she always seems to be, but you’d never know by talking to her. On to the food, my late sister turned me on to the Seoul Chicken and I quickly spread its virtues around my office, getting as many of my co-workers hooked as I could. One of my co-workers came to call it crack chicken because that’s how addictive it is. Later in my tenure I would mix the chicken in with my rice so that the rice had it’s taste as well as the chicken. Thats… how…good…it…is. I’m not a person who likes really hot foods, but their Seoul Chicken has just the right balance of hotness to make it perfect for my palate. The only other plate I’ve tried there is the spicy pork and it was very nice as well, but it paled in comparison to the Seoul Chicken so I didn’t have it that much. I’m already worried about withdrawal symptoms from being cut off due to the hours and location of my new job, but that’ll just make the next taste all the better.

I love this place, the staff are extremely friendly and the Seoul Chicken is fantastic(their home made hot sauce is also an excellent addition)! If your looking for good prices, delicious food and fast service on your lunch break, this is a great place to start.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch here at Scotia Square, especially on Tuesday. I have been coming here on and off for 6 years. Tuesday is Seoul Chicken day, and you have a choice of white or fried rice — but usually I just ask for all veggies to go with it. Their carrots and beans are very good! It also comes with a pancake or dumplings. And of course the seoul chicken itself is amazing. Very friendly staff!

I ate there three times last week and really enjoyed the food. Get a good hot lunch to go for about $ 7.00. I tried this place for the first time because I noticed they consistently had a line-up at lunch hour. Now I know why. Staff is very friendly.

This is a great lunch spot, especially on those cold winter days/cold rainy spring days when you need some flavourful comfort food. The ladies who work there are super efficient and always smiling. Honestly, the only reason I don’t eat there more often is because the special is often pork and I don’t eat pork. The spicy or Seoul chicken are tasty times, and I really recommend the patty. I don’t know what’s in it or what they fry it in, but it’s yum yum!

Well today being Tuesday it is of course Seoul Chicken special day! The lineup for this take out is usually long but again well worth the wait. I went with the Seoul Chicken, fried rice, potato, and vegies. On Tuesdays you also get the choice of a dumpling or a pancake all for around $ 7.00(I went with an extra pancake). Make sure to checkout the hot sauce at the cash register. Adding a bit of this will give your chicken even more of a kick! I know when co workers come in from other countries this is one of the places they want to visit. The staff are very friendly and fast to get the line moving. The only reason for giving them a four is they only take cash no visa.

What to do when I forgot my lunch today? Well, I trudged through Scotia Square with a coworker who suggested the Korean Garden Express. It had a long line, which seemed promising, and the combo options were varied with plenty of choice. I had the Regular BimBimBap, which tax-in, came to $ 6.50 — talk about affordable! And, delicious! Staff are helpful, efficient and keep things moving. Food is piping hot, and assembled with precision. That long line moves very quickly. I’m glad to have another reliable lunch option, so much so, I might«forget» my lunch again very soon!

So I have been a frequent procurer of Korean Garden Express food since it open some years ago. My two favourite items are the Seoul Chicken and Lemon Chicken. Love them so much that I have never strayed! I always have it with vegetables only and always to go. It really is delicious and filling. The Seoul Chicken has a kick of heat while the Lemon Chicken is tart(but in a good way). Staff are lovely. Food is hot. Service is quick. Pretty good combo, especially for a food court!

My office just relocated, and I’ve suddenly found myself in dangerous proximity to the Scotia Square food court. There are tons of options in Scotia Square, but as my first food court venture in a while I thought I would try something slightly exotic and test out Korea Garden. There were several lunch specials — most of them offering some combination of rice and meat — which is just fine for me. I went with the Spicy Pork option(which is not mouth-burning spicy, but just has a nice kick). A small serving was enough to fill me up without leaving me in an afternoon sodium-coma. The small rice/pork combo and a can of pop was less than $ 7, and the service was quick and friendly. I will definitely be back.

Korea Garden Express is another gem in Scotia Square Food Court. The long lines tell you how popular this restaurant is. It seems that the Seoul Chicken(which looked awesome) is the all time favorite. I personally went with the Spicy Shrimp served with fried rice that is fantastic. The 7 shrimp where huge, the rice very flavorful and not the least bit greasy. The plate came with roasted potatoes and marinated cabbage and carrots(not kimchi, but they do serve that). I added a gyoza dumpling and it still was less than $ 7. The staff are very friendly and you know this place is one people come back to again and again… the server handed the guy behind me a Pepsi before he even got the words out. He’s obviously a regular… smart man. I’m tempted to go back tomorrow.
