We went to this restaurant for my friends birthday, I arrived around 7 and there was water already on the table in a pitcher, with ice, so I went to pour some in my glass, when I first noticed the lipstick stain still on my glass from someone else, then to make matters worse, I poured what I thought was water from the pitcher into my now clean glass and took a large sip, and it was vinegar watered down. I was mortified, as my girlfriend said they put vinegar in the pitchers to shine up the silverware after if is cleaned, so they must’ve mixed the pitchers up. Right away one of the guys from my table brought it to the attention of our server, as I am also pregnant, no one came to apologize or to acknowledge what happened. Lets just say I should have took that as my first clue to not ordering. We ordered our food which took a good 1 hour to get, however, I will say to their credit the food was good, but I am also in the military so i’ve had to learn to enjoy bad food, i’ll leave the food tasting to yourself if you dare to try this restaurant. The server was very rude and sarcastic to us all, I mean we had a party of about 20 so she was busy, however, the restaurant should have been prepared for that number as we had reservations and it was not that busy there to begin with, so perhaps more servers for the number of people. Also we had a cake brought in for our friends birthday, and it was not eaten as we were all in disbelief of the service and wanted to leave so we asked for the box back and the server had thrown it out. When leaving and trying to all pay for our meals it was such a disorganization and the bosses just stood and watched the gaggle of people and offered no help to their servers or customers. Then to top off this not so great experience its a mandatory tip which is calculated for you in percentages or «other payment» which I guess one could pick and give what they want, however, tips should be a gratuity not something that is mandatory to give, I was NOT impressed in the slightest.

Authentic Lebanese food at reasonable price, interesting view along Salter St. Had the Kafta and Taouk platter which we shared. The chicken was moist and the Kafta a tad dry but still very good and tasty. Fattoush was fresh and flavourful. We are used to Lebanese and Kababji was in top 5% of our experience. Reasonable prices. A good place to eat regularly. Friendly service in downtown Halifax

I couldn’t find any faults in Kababji! — The dining room was really nice with deep purple tablecloths and accents. — Prompt and friendly service — Huge portions that were fresh, well-flavored and well-priced. My sister and I had the Johnny’s Special. — A debit machine where the tip amount is calculated right on the machine so you know how much your 15 percent tip is without having to calculate or glacé at the paper receipt. I’m already making plans for my return visit to try something else!

Lets be honest — I try pretty hard to avoid Burnside. In the grand scheme of things, there’s just not a lot of reason for me to visit the industrial park. So when everyone told me that they had amazing Lebanese food over there, I started praying that this treasure would make its way across the harbour — and now we’re in luck. Kababji is amazing. Their lunch menu is a great bang for your buck. I had the Spinach Fattayer and an order of Fattoush and I was not disappointed. Actually, I took the salad home with the intentions of eating my leftovers with my dinner, but thanks to my non-existent will power I’ve pretty much polished it off this afternoon — after which I loudly proclaimed ‘I LOVEYOULEBANON’ Please go to this restaurant right now, we don’t want it to suffer the same fate of all the other establishments on the corner of Salter who have set up shop, and soon disappeared. If you’re constantly looking for your fix of Lebanese food during the other 51 weeks of the year that don’t include Lebanese fest, then this is the place for you. ‘This is the best Lebanese food I’ve had in Halifax, aside from Lebanese Fest’ — Sarah Carver, Lebanese food enthusiast

I was absolutely blown away. It’s a little insane, really. The place is gorgeous inside, the staff are all fantastic, and the food is… Well, life-changing. The best falafel I’ve had in Halifax, easily. It’s made with real chickpeas(not that powdered stuff), and it shows. Their hummus is spectacular, too. The food is that oh-so-oily deliciousness that you crave. The perfect lunch or supper spot downtown. Get there! Oh, and so much of the menu is really cheap! So that’s a massive plus.

Wow, i just have to say wow. Yest another spot opened in the cursed corner of Salter St, I hope that this one stays open, I really do. The prices are amazing, but that’s not even the best part… The food was amazing! We got the Hummus, Shanklish, and Baba Ghannouj, and oh my lord it was like a religious experience. So much garlicy goodness, all contained within a $ 5.99 price tag for each appy. The portion sizes were massive. Fire-breathing garlic breath is fun, so do yourself a favor and try it! Oh and fyi, the staff there are fabulous, funny, and very attentive. Big win in my book

I’ve always heard how great Kababji is, but I don’t often find myself in Burnside. But now they’ve opened up a new downtown location in a spot that’s seen many establishments come and go — I really hope Kababji is here to stay. My lunch there was fantastic. I ordered the Kababji lunch special and it was delicious. Kafta, rice, hummus, fattoush and some grilled onion — everything was cooked perfectly. The service was really outstanding, the restaurant had great décor, and the prices were very reasonable. Honestly, I can’t wait to go back — next time I’m trying the falafel pita.
