I Heart Bikes Tours – Bikes and Bites

My wife and I took a 2-​hour bike tour from this shop and afterwords biked a loop through the city. I enjoyed the enthusiasm and energy of our tour leader (Grace), and happy with what we learned and saw in those two hours. The people we interacted at the shop were very friendly and helpful.
The only thing I wished I had better understood before we showed up for the tour is the types of bikes we were renting (and I don’t blame the store for this). When I showed up I was directed to what looked liked a orange woman’s cruiser bike with no front derailer. We got them easily upgraded to mountain bikes, but just something to ask about when you rent there. Yes, the streets are not THAT step where you have to have this, but it is nice to have.

Wonderful way to see different historical landmarks and get a flavor of the city! Love that it is a college town and that the hope is to keep the small town vibe even as the city grows /​thrives. Grace is without question an awesome bike tour leader — extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic, outgoing and fun! She knew the ins and outs and local tidbits of the city that we would have missed out on had we not taken the tour with her. She epitomized the good cheer and mellow vibe that we experienced from everyone that we met in Halifax. Smiles and hellos were in abundance. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Halifax and ibikes was definitely one of the highlights!

I was just in the store today, I have to say the girl working was SO friendly and helpful, made me really enjoy my experience there. They had the best selection of fun, patterned helmets and awesome Halifax bike themed t-​shirts and accessories. I can’t wait to go back and pick a shirt up. If I didn’t already own my own bike, renting one for dates or waterfront rides would be right up my alley! I think it’s a great thing for tourist and locals alike to get into.
