Do you want a live lobster? This is the place to go. Two little shops filled to the gills with tempting crustaceans. Come at the end of May and there are lobster galore.

A sweet little spot I recently discovered — went for a walk around the boardwalk a few times, checked out some of the homemade treasures at a few of the shops, and finished off my visit with a scoop of ice cream! I didn’t have as much time to explore as I would have liked to, but that’s just all the more reason to go back!:)

Sister Sarah and I drove to Fisherman’s Cove. Fisherman’s Cove is both frozen in time and constantly evolving. Nestled in a centuries old fishing community, they’re home to a unique collection of gift shops, museums and art galleries, delicious restaurants, coffee and bake shops, ice-cream canteens and fish n’ chip shacks. Because it’s off-season, a lot of the shops were closed but it was fun to walk around … I love being by the water. In addition to the shops, it also functions as a fishing wharf. I never knew this place existed until today. I imagine it’s an awesome place in the summer with all the shops open.

This little village is tucked away in Eastern Passage, down by the ocean. You can take a walk on the boardwalk in front of little shops, boutiques, and snack shacks. You can stop in at Wharf Wraps for a delicious seafood dinner, and then take a walk further out around the water front. Weave your way down the stone beach to dip your toes in the ocean, or take some pictures of the lobster traps and fishing boats around the little wharf. It’s a great spot for a walk and a few touristy things to do, but it’s a lot less packed than its cousin, the Halifax waterfront boardwalk.
