Fenwick Tower

The only positive about this place was the location. The building is terrible and the units are terrible. Most of the staff is terrible and unhelpful. Stay away from this slum if you can. I could go on and on for pages about reasons why you should not move into this slum.

I lived in Fenwick for about a year and a half. The location is great as I was able to walk to SMU and pretty much everywhere else I ever wanted to go. Sobeys is directly across the road and subway and there’s a shoppers next door. The walls are thick which is something I really wish my new apartment had!
However, this place has A LOT of students living in it so don’t expect the thick walls to tune out the ridiculous amounts of partying. We unfortunately lived across the hall from some idiots who would party with their door open and blast Bieber music *shudders* …definitely one of the reasons we decided to leave. Another reason is because they were putting the price up and it just wasn’t worth it. This place is so expensive now! Also, as the other reviewer stated, at least one of the elevators is always broke. Wait times for the elevators is forever even when they’re not broke.
When I was there the landlords were alright. One in particular was amazing and always super helpful but I think he’s gone now. Watch out if the secretary is the same girl it was over a year ago… she was a total *insert choice of nasty word here*. When we first moved in we were told we could park in the back parking lot for free which we did for over a year… and then suddenly one day got a ticket?! The landlord guy told us to go talk to her cuz apparently she’s the one who issues them but she told us otherwise and that we «can’t park there because it’s not our property» even though we had been doing it for over a year and were even told to when we got there. The building is old and ugly. They’re renovated a lot and there’s now a gym and the entrace way is nice. But because it’s an old building you’re bound to run into problems. Only one we ever ran into was our heater kicked out in the dead of winter (seriously, it was so bad we slept in our winter jackets until they could come fix it). So anyways, they fixed it but the next time it broke the guy told us «well, it’s an old building. There’s not really anything I can do.» …ummmmm??? We can’t live with no heat!!! That was the final straw that drove us out. And how convenient is it that the second we got someone to sublet they decided to come replace the heat thingy. Jerks.
Anyways, I could continue with horrible stories but I won’t. 2 stars because it’s a great location, there was one nice landlord when we were there, and because of the thickness of the walls. Other than that, this place doesn’t have much going for it so look other places.
