Access Nova Scotia

For those who have been to the United States, you would know that DMV is literally «horror land» for everybody. The minimum time it takes just to renew something is like 2 hours in DMV. Well, you don’t have that here. It literally takes only 15 minutes and you are done. That is how it should be! Plus, you get to sit here unlike DMV where you stand all day. Yes, sometimes there are.a.lot of people, but things get done quickly. You can expect to get your stuff done even if you have only 30 minutes to get to work!

I am giving 3 stars because its always clean lol. I dont even think this place should be on Unilocal,we have no other option but to go here and Im sure not 1 person enjoy their experience waiting for HOURS. I dont understand why their isnt 1 central building like the aliant building on barrington where they could have all offices like passports, licence, ei office and all other goverment facilities we need to visit on occasion in 1 place. Besides making a comment on the long long long wait times there isnt much more to say and I am afraid if I continue I will go into some long rant about how much I hate this place haha.

Access Nova Scotia’s new location is kinda-​sorta okay. I miss the centrality of the Mumford Road location, plus the Bayers Lake location is more difficult to reach by bus. (While that’s a moot point for me as I drive, because it’s a provincial office it should be more easily accessible for everyone IMO).
I had to renew my license, which had expired in June. *blush* Inside was stuffy, crowded and a bit smelly. Mike and I settled down for a long wait. It wasn’t as bad as I expected, however, and after about 40 minutes we were served.
The staff we dealt with were friendly, upbeat and professional. Once my number was called my new license was processed in only a few minutes. If there were a way to cut down on wait times I’d add an extra star.

No one ever looks forward to a trip to the DMV (unless you’ve just turned 16, I suppose), so I put off renewing my lisence until the last possible moment. Thinking I’d be seated in a long line, I came prepared with reading material.
But, not so! I was in and out of the DMV, new lisence in hand, within 15 minutes. I think I lucked out with timing (5:30 PM on a Wednesday), but this branch of Access Nova Scotia had friendly and helpful staff and feels much nicer than the old location at Mumford Road.

Access Nova Scotia is a necessary evil for anyone who drives, operates a boat, or requires a licence of any kind.
This would involve 75% or more of our population.
I have been here on occasions where it is so packed, it standing room only, with a three hour wait. I have also walked in and had no wait time at all. So if it is at all possible, do not wait until the end of the month. It also seems everyone goes in the morning. There really is no logic here, you just have to take your chances.
They do have a great system though. You take a number only in the category you need. So if your there to transfer papers for a new car you bought (separate category), licence (separate category).
It is a hundred percent better than it use be.
