Stir fry all taste the same here. It was cool 10 years ago but they have not changed with the times. I’m over it …

We LOVE the west end location and frequent it on a weekly basis. While in the East end, we decided to try the other location. What a contrast! The hostess, who was clearly annoyed with us from the first moment, got annoyed as we requested to be seated away from a large group of about 12 – 15 people as it was loud. She then sat us adjacent to the food, which at first we thought was fine, but after a few seconds, we had huge traffic coming through us(the large table coming up to get their food). We requested to move down a few tables over only to have the oh, so friendly hostess tell us if we move, we won’t get served for over an hour as they had no staff and just got«slammed» with a group. We left. Service does matter, especially when going out these days! We took it next door, and absolutely loved it!

Mediocre service with overpriced product offering. Not big enough bang for the buck. Hot and sour soup is blan and below average for an Asian restaurant.

Extremely overpriced and poor service. This restaurant is not like other mongolian stir fry restaurants. They charge 2.99 for each 100g. Which let you to pay more than 20 for stir fry nodles.

Very pricy for stir fry, no free refills on the drinks. I went with my 5yo grandaughter along with 10 adults, she watched evrybody else get their drinks first after I asked she finally got her’s for that reason I will not return.

Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Ottawa. Mongolian Village offers a large variety of fresh ingredients to create your own custom stir fry, which is cooked to perfection every time. Complimentary rice and home made soup are included with your meal. I have never been disappointed eating here, and highly recommend it.

You can have stir fry with whatever you like. You can pick your toppings and the cooks prepare the food for you. It was my first time there and I loved it.

As a picky eater, I enjoy how I can choose everything that goes on my plate. For example, most stir fry places load my plate with vegetables that make me gag, such as carrots and oversugary sauces. But here, it is build-your-own. So if I don’t want carrots or bok choy, I just don’t put it on my plate. Sometimes I just want stir fry with just meat and vegetables, no grains(pasta/rice). Here is one of the few places where I can get that. You see them cook the food, so you know they aren’t giving you microwaved frozen stuff. The meat I put in my bowl is raw, and the meat I get back is freshly cooked. It’s also pay by weight, so you pay for what you want. And there is unlimited soup and rice. There’s some cross-contamination as everything is cooked on the same grill, so if you have shellfish allergies, you probably should not go here. And one time they got my table’s orders mixed up with another table’s, but everyone makes mistakes, so no big deal.

I like Mongolian Village. The one thing that keeps me coming back is their rice paper!!! They are delicious. I have searched, and searched, and searched for similar rice paper in stores and other restaurants, and Mongolian Village wins hands down. I am not sure if they are made in house, but they are delish!(I always ask for extra!) Enough about rice paper, and onto the food and experience… I have not been to Mongolian in years, so I was very excited to have lunch here today with my hubby. It was pretty dead around noon, just the way I like it! :) Our server was attentive, not overly friendly, but did her job. I love all the fresh ingredients, and topped my dish with lots of leeks, bean sprouts, carrots, onions and tons of garlic. They have a large selection of veggies, protein, noodles and sauces to choose from. They also offer 10% off if you create a vegetarian dish! *YAY* My bowl was maybe a quarter full of veggies and cost just over six bucks. It was not a lot of food, but keep in mind, you get soup, rice, and rice papers with your meal, so I thought that was pretty fair. By the way, did I mention their soups??? They have one of the best hot and sour soups hands down! The rice paper wraps and their hot and sour soup were the highlight of my lunch! :) I was looking for a bit of heat and was on the hunt for sirracha, but did not realize they kept it at the preparation table until I was done my meal.(Wish they had some at the tables). By the end of our meals, we were stuffed on rice. If you do decide to dine here, be very cautious of what you put in your bowls; it is easy to get carried away. Sauce, and meat are heavy items, and can make your dish an expensive one!

First time here! Everything was great. We were seated quickly. The server took our drink orders and asked us if we had ever been there. When we said«no» she explained the process to us. All the food was fresh and was cooked perfectly. There was lots of variety in veg, meats and sauces. The server suggested 3 ladles of sauce. I went for 3.5 and it was perfect, but I like my food heavy on the sauce. Pricing is based on weight. You get rice included in your meal, so feel free to leave out to noodles and go with more veg and meat. You also get soup. I had tomato and dill. It was yummy. If you tell the cook that it is a vegetarian meal, they cook it on a different part of the grill with different utensils that do not come into contact with meat. I thought that was very cool. And you get 10% off if you order a meatless meal! For my boyfriend and I to order 2 meals, 2 cokes and a dessert to share it came to $ 40. We will most defiantly be back!

Oh Mongolian Village. Out of all the restaurants in the area(Blair/Ogilvie), this is probably my top choice, if only because you can easily change up your menu without sacrificing quality too much. It’s always going to be in a grill, so unless the chef undercooks your food, there really is no way you can screw it up. OK actually there are lots of ways you can screw it up. So after 5+ times of having eaten here, let me all give you some tips. 1) Don’t expect too much from the soup — «vegetable soup» is really tomato soup with vegetables; hot & sour for me personally is neither hot nor sour. 2) There’s unlimited rice/wraps included in your meal. I would seriously factor this in when you decide what items to pick in the buffet. 3) Value for money items: Seafood, Beef, Chicken. Load up on these. If you’re vegetarian, tough luck. 4) Lose the heavy vegetables — they’re dead weight that you have to pay for. And unless you have a special craving for noodles, I would just stick to the meat, some vegetables, sauce — to pair with the rice instead. 5) Don’t experiment with the sauces! You can seriously spoil your meal. Refer to the instructions on suggested sauces located above the sauce bar. 6) The dessert menu is worth a look. I had their Chocolate Truffle Royale(this might not be the right name) and it was delicious. Three layers of chocolate goodness. For myself, I usually stick to the seafood + mushrooms + teriyaki/honey/lemon sauce over rice, and I never clock in past $ 12. I’m usually stuffed after(well, just enough to leave room for dessert). For me, that’s a good deal. Oh and service is a little spotty, so I docked a star off for that too.

This was my first time visiting and it really is an interesting and different concept. I would call this a «reverse buffet» concept: 1. Upon seating you’re given your choice of soup and a bowl of rice is brought to your table. Both are free. 2. You’re given a ticket with your seat number which you bring to the front buffet bar. 3. Grab a metal bowl and begin loading it up with all the raw vegetables, sauces, noodles, meats, and seafood you want! They have plenty of choices including corn, green and red peppers, several types of noodles, and chicken, shrimp, scallops, steak, various nuts and sauces(hot, mild, sweet, and savoury). You are charged by pre-cooked weight at the rate of $ 2.69 per 100 grams, so choosing heavier foods like chicken will obviously cost more. If your bowl costs more than $ 25 they give you 15% off and take your picture. There is a bulletin board with the most expensive bowl ever ordered(at this location) coming in at over $ 50! The women I was with had dishes which came out to about $ 12 – 14. Most of the men had bowls about $ 14 – 18. No one took home any leftovers, and everyone was satisfied with the amount of food they received. 4. The bowl is weighed and your total cost is written on your ticket. Your bowl is cooked on the large circular grill they have just behind the buffet bar. Return to your seat. 5. Your cooked dish is brought to your table! You can’t complain about the food you ordered, since you created your dish after all! However, I would have liked to see more suggestions available. There was a small poster at the end of the buffet line which suggested what sauce you should choose depending on your affinity for hot/spicy/sweet/sour and which meat(s) you chose. I would have liked to see these throughout to suggest pairing more authentic flavours together. I also appreciate the standard $ 2.69÷100 grams price tag. This is unlike traditional Chinese/Asian buffets where the food becomes twice as expensive during dinners and weekends for some odd reason. The chocolate fondue fountain was broken, which was disappointing since it was their only dessert option.

I came here while in Gloucester a little while back, I have heard really good things about this place and I’ve wanted to try it for a while. I was never there before, and the guy just asked me if I wanted it for here or to go, and after I said to go he just handed me a dish and walked off and I had no idea what to do. The cook was pretty helpful though… Basically you pick ingredients(there are like 50 of them), noodles, meats, sauces, veggies, rice, etc. and once you’ve finished choosing you hand it to the chef. Then they weigh it and charge you for it… I IS crazy expensive, I paid $ 20 for a really subpar stir fry. I can’t really complain about the stir fry since I made it, but I would suggest adding more sauce than they recommend since mine was pretty bland and not near spicy enough. I think it would be cool to just keep choosing really small portions of it and experimenting, the concept is cool… It is just so expensive there is no way I’ll be able to afford to go there regularly.

I’ve been a regular at this restaurant for the past couple of years, however I find myself hesitating to go there these days because of the poor quality of service and sometimes they don’t cook the food properly. So if u decide to go please make sure u r getting ur money’s worth.

My friend took my brother and I here because we had never been to a Mongolian Grill before. It’s located in the Gloucester Centre, right in the corner facing the parking lot, so you really can’t miss it. When we walked in, it was really packed. Almost all of the tables were taken and it smelled SO good, but I wasn’t really sure what to do. It isn’t your normal sit down restaurant. You have your choice of soup that comes with your meal, and the server gives you a ticket. You take this ticket to the food bar, grab a bowl, and fill it with vegetables and noodles. They have many different types and thicknesses of Asian noodles, like rice and egg noodles. Their vegetables include snap peas, carrots, peppers, onions, baby corn, water chestnuts, and much more. You then choose your meats, like beef, chicken, pork, seafood, or even dumplings. The last step is to choose your sauce, then hand everything to the chef. Your meal is weighed, and paid for by weight. All you have to do now is wait at your table and they’ll deliver it right to you! It’s actually really kind of interactive and fun. It’s sort of like an Asian noodle buffet. I love that you can just create your own meal, so everyone’s is different. All of their ingredients are great quality and taste fantastic. The sauces are very savory and the chefs grill everything just right, and fast. It’s also much more filling than you think. We had a great time! During the summer, the patio at the Gloucester Centre is open, so the restaurant might even be open longer than usual.
