We stayed at casey’s back in 2014. taj messed up my license so I had to re-buy again later. cabin was dirty, We got the food package and the food was so bad we had to order out after one meal, and only had coffee in the am. This was my first trip to simcoe and I took my quad on the ice and got stuck, so I called Taj’s to see if he would bring his argo out to pull me out and the first words out of his mouth was, ITWLLCOSTYOU $ 100.00AMERICAN!!! way to go Taj’s…we will never stay there again. this guy is all about making a BIG payday… then when we checked out he tried to over charge us!!! what a scam!

A quick run-down for this bed and breakfast across the street from Lake Simcoe. My husband and I(along with a few other friends) booked here because we were attending a cottage(informal) wedding. Getting there? Easy. Check-in? A cinch. Customer Service? Awesome. The owner is extremely friendly, kind, and willing to accommodate your requests. Food? Samosas — kick ass, they’re great for snacks. We even took ½ a dozen to go… kinda wish we went for the whole 12. Breakfast was filling and yummy(just had the standard eggs/bacon brekkie), which is not included in your room rate. Butter tarts — TODIEFOR. Facilities? A little grungy. Hopefully since management is new, as of May 2011, they’ll upgrade a few things here and there. The upstairs, COMMON washroom is clean, albeit the water is extremely eggy. Prime market for this place is fishermen/women and hunters. Because of this, I understand why the place isn’t über cozy and updated. Rooms? Totally outdated, but I wasn’t expecting a trendy B&B in Port Bolster. It was HOT though. I’m currently over 6 months pregnant so it was a little stifling, even at night. We brought in a super sized floor fan that was outside in the hallway and that seemed to do the trick. The bed itself… hrmmm…mattresses need replacing — they’re SUPER soft. I’m just glad we were crashing for one night. Overall? The experience was fine. If you’re looking for a place to crash on nights after some cottage or lake parties then this will do. If you’re looking for something with more of a classic b&b feel to it, then this isn’t it. I know the guys were talking about potentially heading back up there for ice fishing in the winter. That might help put this review in perspective.
