Gananoque is a touristy town that is the Canadian starting point for 1000 Islands boa tours. Lots of cute little places to eat. We didn’t get to them. It was raining too hard and we were looking for lunch close to where we parked the car. Riverside is is no pre-packaged, kit pub. It is an authentic, small town beer hall down to the ground. A mammoth space full of pool tables, off-track betting room, dance floor and a little stage for the band. Can’t say what the night life is like. We were there to escape a rainy day at the cottage. Menu is typical burgers, wraps and pizza. The chef’s speciality is coca-cola ribs. They are pretty good but the sauce is just sweet without having many other notes of spice, tang, etc. Beer is priced for locals(less than $ 5 a pint) and service is quick and friendly.
