Humbertown Shopping Centre

Here’s a good argument against lousy urban planning. Humbertown Shopping Centre has a street that goes through its parking lot, and it’s a bizarre hybrid of a plaza and a true shopping mall; some stores can only be entered from outside, while others have indoor entrances. One section at the south end covered like a mall, but open at one end. This sort of mall design might work in Florida, but it’s not too inviting around here in January.
Anyway, there are a few interesting stores at Humbertown, like Cobb’s Bread and Alex Farm Products, and there’s a Blockbuster and an LCBO out on the periphery. There are a number of doctors and other professional services, which reinforces the fact that this is a useful mall if you’re coming for a specific purpose, but it’s not necessarily built for browsing.
