Kid clothing can be expensive. Sure, you can shop at Children’s Place but I don’t want my kid to look like you took 25 Barbie doll outfit, put them a blender(sparkles and all), and call it a girls outfit. Gap kids nears the upper cost spectrum but the quality is there. Even after non stop washes and stain treatments, these clothes last through a season so I don’t spend double to replace them midway. The other great thing about Gap… The double dipping of discounts. An extra 30% off of already discounted 50% off? Yes please! Gap kids are a bit trendy and take on styles that can be similar to their adult line. Personally I think that’s great because I really don’t like the over the top neon pink colours with sparkles and sequins. My child doesn’t need to look like a doll. Sure there are sequins at Gap too but they’re used sporadically. Gap clothing textures and fabrics are also thicker and softer. Considering we live in Canada, thinner and cheaply made clothes in winter time is just a bad idea. It’ll just slightly longer than a wet paper bag. I also like Gap clothing because of the materials. Their corduroys are soft and pliable. The polar fleece stay fuzzy and thick even after a wash. Their sweaters aren’t scratchy. Minute details to me but to a toddler, it’s a difference between wearing clothes and trying to take off the scratchy and uncomfortable clothes in the middle of Loblaws. I know people complain about price but I honestly rarely pay retail at this store. They always have great sales going on all the time and they often have an extra 30 to 40% off the last ticketed price. Another great thing about this store is the size and service. Maybe it’s Sherway but this store gets great selection and the store is the same size as most adult Gap stores. It’s clean and well organized. Service here is great. They’re staffed with at least 5 people and I only wait minutes at the line up. They ask me if I need help and they’re all genuinely pleasant. They even give out stickers to my child! Overall, this Gap kids store is one of the best in GTA from my experience.
