Absolutely love this place. The selection of produce is absolutely wonderful and the prices tend to match or beat your local no frills, food basics, or price chopper. The freshness of vegetables tends to be better then that of fruit, especially during the winter months. Although they quite commonly offer reduced price fruit at unbelievable prices which is great for anyone into jam making or canning. The meat and fish selection is also great, with prices being highly competitive. Now the displays for meat and fish don’t look the cleanest, but I have not experienced any problems and I have been buying most of my fresh fish and meat there. Recently go some red snapper which was just unbelievable. As mentioned the place is not the cleanest and is extremely busy. It does usually empty out drastically about 1 hour before closing which is 9:30 pm. So I you want to avoid crowds then show up late. Don’t expect any sort of customer service as all workers on the floor are typically stocking, and more then that they make it a habit not to answer your questions. For prepackaged items or canned goods, purchase elsewhere as prices tend to be a little steeper here for those goods. When here, make sure to get some takeout. It’s good.

This placee is huge!!! Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever made it through all the aisles. Lots of Asian products and produce quite foreign to the rest of us. Prices are good but I won’t trust meat or fish from this place. When you go you’ll know what I mean

There are not a ton of ethnic grocery stories in Etobicoke. That being said, the great thing about Fresh Value is that they serve the tossed salad of many different ethnic communities in Central/North Etobicoke — Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Jamaican, a bevy of Latin American countries(Peruvian, Chilean, Uruguayan, etc.) and their different food needs. You can find things from chat masala to a churro making kit to oxtail to tamarind paste to phở noodles to Boy Bawang deep fried corn all under one roof. Prices are quite low here, and the produce is extremely fresh(they also have quite a wide selection of this too.) The only thing to be weary of is cleanliness — definitely not as clean as your local Loblaw; and parking — the parking lot is a NIGHTMARE and every second you have to look around if someone will drive into you. A hint is to park in the side lot to the east away from all the traffic– you’ll be glad you did. Also on weekends this place is a MADHOUSE, with families filling shopping carts full of food. If you are claustrophobic and hate jostling and crowds, it’s best to go on a weeknight right before closing time.
