I’ve been here twice to have jewellery fixed, and both times I was greeted warmly. The first jewellery repair was my necklace that broke due to shoddy work from another jewellery store. It was just a few days before New Year’s Day in December of 2014. I wasn’t expecting my necklace to be repaired while I wait-in fact I didn’t even expect to get it back until after the new year. I went across the street to grab a coffee, came back, and within minutes it was already done, and for a very reasonable price. The second time was just today, again for the same necklace. This time I accidentally broke it while pulling my sweater off. This time the repair was done in about 3 business days. Again, I was greeted with a smile once I was buzzed in, and I was treated very warmly. I’m not engaged yet, but I’ll be gently nudging my boyfriend in the direction of this jewellery store…

Went in a three times looking for in order a gift for my wife, watch for myself and to repair some jewelry. Each time the service was so poor that I took my business elsewhere. My preference is to shop local but the sales staff seemed OK with sending me on my way. In all three cases I was told to come back wife my wife.

I’ll start by saying, I didn’t know very much about Jewelry, nor settings, nor metals, etc. prior to going to Crawfords. I’m certainly not a subject matter expert now, but I know more thanks to Crawford’s. They are/were incredibly knowledgeable and candid in their feedback. For instance: I wanted to get a Platinum Ring. Why? Because I was under the misapprehension that it is/was Awesomer than White Gold. Wrongedy Wrong Wrong. They explained that Platinum is great, but swim in the ocean and it’ll look like a piece of old pipe as the iridium(sp?) coating will be stripped by salt water. I had bought a(custom) Engagement Ring from them in 2007… they were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the nature of Burmese Rubies vs. that of say, other Rubies. I chose from a varity of various stones, sizes, clarity, etc. for the setting, the finish, the antiquing, etc. So in terms of being«involved» they don’t take artistic license. They ask you every step of the way, what you’d like to do with a design, the advantages vs. any disadvantages, etc. Really, if you’re getting a custom piece of jewelry made ie: an Engagement Ring — I can’t recommend them enough.
