How’s this for honest mechanics?
Last year in September, I visited because our old Dakota had bald tires. I planned to buy regular tires, and winter tires a few months later when we could afford it. Bill Parks, the owner, looked at my truck, and the year of it, and asked «What are you going to do with this truck?» I told him we would drive it until it quit. Shrug. Instead of selling me two sets of tires, he advised me to just buy winter tires, and leave them on all year. He said the tires might actually outlast my truck. He saved me hundred$$ by being honest, and not trying to gouge me. Oh yeah, and they were FAST.
Well, the truck is still going, but the heater went a little while back. I cringed, wondering just how much this was going to cost. It was just the ‘resistor’. They replaced the resistor, cleaned up some rusty bits, and advised us what to look out for. It cost $ 92, and we understood everything he explained to us.
This is my permanent mechanic now, and I’ll be telling everyone I know to give them business. Just call ahead for an appointment.
