The Makeup Art Space is a small makeup studio and retail store located on Calgary Trail. Our makeup artists have over 10 years of working in the industry and specialize in everything from beauty, fashion, bridal, runway, photographic makeup to special effects makeup.

We want to change the way people respond to the traditional methods of cosmetic purchases and applications.

As we saw it, you had two options:

1. Go to a department or specialty store and have your makeup removed and re-​applied in public… then be pressured to buy by a salesperson on commission.

2. Or have a makeup artist come to you with a case full of makeup from a multitude of brands that you don’t recognize or know the cleanliness of (or that if you loved or wanted to touch up later, you were out of luck).

We saw a need for a private studio with access to a fantastic quality line where there is the option to purchase the products used on you with no pressure.

History

Established in 2011.

Opened in December 2011. Previously the line was available at Studio 122 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

The Artistry Collection has come out of a history of not only working as a makeup artist for some of the top well known brands but also from working behind the scenes in a corporate position with these brands, as well as from working with Dermatology professionals.

One of the things I noticed was a compromise between pigments and ingredients, either the colors were great and but the ingredients were not, or it was mineral based with a limited selection of colors.

I used to pick and choose from various lines to get the results I wanted. In a somewhat selfish act I decided to create a line that was in essence «the best of the best» and in this concept I vowed to not put my name on it unless I absolutely believed in the product 100%.

All of our products are:

–Hypoallergenic

–Fragrance free

–Allergy tested

–Noncomedogenic (will not clog pores)

–Not tested on animals and contain no animal products!

We insist that animals should be respected and loved, not used for cosmetic purposes!
