Service is still great but the food has gone downhill. My salad was great but really, its a salad. My husbands steak was FULL of fat and grissle and basically raw. We won’t go back.

Last night the girlfriend and I went to the Keg. We both were feeling a bit on the hungry side. I ordered the pork back ribs and she had the Kentucky steak. The waiter that we had was very kind and made sure we were very happy through out the meal. Gave us his take on some of the favorites he had as a suggestion. We started off with the free bread. I wished it was almost anything but the ciabatta buns. No matter where i go the ciabatta buns are always too hard on the outside. The inside was very soft and delicious None the less I had a quarter bun. Our meals came what seemed to be very quick. i guess that is the way they distract you by bringing a bun. LOL. My ribs were clearly the fall off the bone tasty but fries got cold quick. I kind of expected that as every place is like that when I go. For the $ 30.00 that you pay, you can get the same rib flavor at Montana’s. After finishing the meal we both decided to order the fudge brownie dessert. i love a good brownie but I was not impressed by the one that I got. It had a crust on it like maybe they let it sit out for a while to air dry. I also think that they should ut more ice cream on the inside of the bowl. We both agreed that the whipped topping should be smaller portion to make way for the awesome ice cream. Where we were seated kinda made me think what were they thinking. We were seated near the kitchen entrance. I could hear the music from the dinning room as well as the music that the radio was playing in the kitchen which overpowered the dining room. For the money that was spent I really don’t think I will be in a rush to go back.

Fantastic experience tonight. Largely due to the excellent service from Michelle. We haven’t been thrilled with the keg lately due to menu changes with price increases and less attention to detail. However tonight shows how attentive service can make ALL the difference. Steaks were done right, wine selections by our server were bang on. Alternate side choices were accommodated. All making for an excellent experience. We will be back on our once a week at this keg location routine!

Be careful what time you head in here, it gets very busy! Very nicely decorated. Menu is not super extensive but they offer quite a few options. I found it was pretty loud in the restaurant as we were close to the bar. The server was prompt and very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Thai chicken which came with mashed potatoes and some vegetables. The mashed potatoes are the best I have ever tasted and the chicken was very good, the vegetables were sort of over cooked but overall the meal was good. I ordered a caesar as well, as I usually do when we go out and I found it wasn’t that great for a restaurant !, so I might opt for a different drink next time. I would not hesitate to return.

I have been here before and I’ve always liked it, but when I went this weekend it wasn’t up to par! I ordered a keg margarita and it was very very very salty(there was literally a pile of salt at the bottom of the glass!). I told the waiter that it was really salty and that he could take it(while he was taking our bread plates away) and he didn’t offer to replace it or take it off of the bill(I wasn’t asked what size I wanted and they automatically gave me the keg size so that was $ 10.50) I normally would’ve asked for something new or to have it removed but it was soo busy there! Then after our meal I ordered the cheesecake and It wasn’t very good. It was strange– it left almost a greasy feeling in my mouth(as if they used shortening for some reason or something) it was a weird texture and not very cream cheesy… I am definitely not in any rush to go back there.

This Keg exceeded my expectations tonight. I went in not feeling very well and not overly excited to eat another boring gluten and dairy free meal. However as soon as I asked for a gluten free menu, the manager came right over and explained exactly what I could have and that they would be extra careful. Usually I have to take off a lot of the toppings on my salad due to my food allergies and I often miss the cheese. The manager checked and informed me that I could have the goat cheese and most of the toppings included. The staff was very informative and they didn’t just assume that my allergies were a preference. They actually took me seriously and I didn’t feel sick afterwards. The salad took longer than normal so they even brought me a complimentary fruit bowl for dessert! They made me feel comfortable and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Very impressed!

My boyfriend Matt and I go here all the time. This is the only location aside from the Whyte ave one that we actually enjoy(I must admit, it has been a long time since we have given the other locations a chance). I would definitely say that we are regulars at The Keg Skyview because this is the one place that we know, no matter what we choose to eat and drink, it will absolutely satisfy. The last time we dined here was on Saturday, July 4th. If you are dining here on a weekend, I highly recommend arriving as close to 4:30 as possible, and no later than 5:15 if you don’t want to wait long for a table. Matt and I often arrive around 5:20 and it is about a 45 minute wait, so we will sit at the bar and enjoy a drink and appetizer while waiting. We have started ordering meals to share as we often do not finish the food if we get one meal each(this is something that we most often do in California as the portions are gigantor). Our top favorites are: Appetizer: Baked Brie — delicious! this is exactly as it sounds and includes little sides of chilli pepper jelly and pesto. naturally with little crostinis which I like to get lightly toasted because they are too crispy otherwise. Cheese Toast — this is actually so good(again, lightly toasted) and has a tonne of garlic butter on it beneath the mound of melted cheese… pretty big for two people to share, we always have leftovers. Bacon Wrapped Scallops — this comes with six scallops, I believe. they are pretty good, but sometimes over-cooked a little bit. The Crispy Shrimp used to be a great appetizer until they swapped out the old batter for something new that always falls off the shrimp — you now just get stuck with really greasy hot shrimps… and a killer garlic mayo dip. For meals, we often share a seven ounce filet mignon with rice and a side of King Crab legs… Honestly, out of the hundred times we have been to The Keg in the last two years, we have had two problematic steaks, all of the other ones have been incredible… I will take those odds any time. Dessert — The mini Crème Brulee is absolutely delicious but has lately been too cold in the middle for my liking and loses it’s crème brûlée texture(it comes in a little ounce sized bowl and is refrigerated throughout the day). I am sure the regular sized one is still as delicious as ever, but I cannot eat that entire thing. Billy Miner Pie… Words cannot describe… It’s like espresso-ey ice cream cake… But again, huge. So we are unable to order it unless we are with at least two other people.

Hmm. .if you look at my previous reviews of this keg you will see I have loved this location, the food… the service… everything about it. It’s not been up to par lately but management has attentively followed up so I have hope that it will be living up to its usual great standard

This is one of the best chain restaurants in the city, as evidenced by the fact that it is almost always busy. Nice décor, courteous service that is very attentive, and quality food are some of the things which make this location great, especially since they can be counted on to deliver these consistently. I particularly love the Prime Rib and Crème Brûlée.

My go to place for a great steak. Great for either a family night out or a date night. Even though I have gone to the Whyte Ave and South Edmonton Common ones too, I’m just reviewing this one, as it’s the one closest to me and one I go the most to. But I want to say the other 2 would fall under this same review. Compared to other places I’ve had steak, I find this the only place that makes it perfectly medium-rare every time. Service is always great, they will always come around to check on your meal and refill water. Love the Filet Mignon or Baseball Sirloin(can only be made to med-rare), with side of mushrooms or asparagus. It isn’t a cheap night out, as you pay average of $ 30 for meal(not including drinks and dessert or appys). But I think for an occasional place to go, it’s well worth it for the service and quality of food. I have never left here hungry or able to squeeze in dessert! Be warned though, there can be a bit of a wait during peak times(5 – 7). But you can always wait at the bar with a drink.

My husband and I came here for my birthday the other night. We arrived shortly after 9:00 and the place was packed. We were told we would have a 30 minute wait so we grabbed the last two seats at the bar. My husband ordered an old fashioned and I had a spiced chai. Both drinks were excellent. Shortly after our drinks arrived, our table was ready. The hostess who brought us to our table was very pleasant. Our server arrived just after we got settled into our seats. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. My husband ordered the peppercorn New York with a Cesar salad, and I ordered the fillet classic with a Cesar salad. Our salads and warm bread arrived quickly and were delicious. Our plates were cleared shortly after we were finished. Our steaks came out cooked to perfection. Flavourful, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. For dessert we split a slice of Billy Miner pie and I had a vanilla sidecar. Delicious! We don’t go to The Keg often, but when we do we are always impressed with the consistently great service and quality of our food. It is nice to know that when we go out to treat our selfs to a meal at The Keg we will always enjoy our meals.

The Keg has always been a go to favorite place! They have great food and drinks! Plus the décor and people are amazing. They always take care of you and the service is amazing! If you’re going on a weekend go early or expect a long wait as its always busy! We went last night for an early dinner. We started with the calamari which was really good. The feta sauce was different but very tasty. Both of us ordered the prime rib medium rare. When it came it was cooked medium. We told the waitress and she didn’t hesitate to remove the meat from the plates. We ate everything else as we were hungry. The manager ended up bringing us two new full plate. They were cooked perfect and amazing! They took the calamari off are bill without hesitation. I recommended the prime rib here everytime!

This Keg is absolutely beautiful. Even if the food and drinks were garbage(which they’re absolutely not) i would still want to hang out in this amazing space. Its a Keg. I’ve never had an even remotely unpleasant experience in a Keg and this one is no exception. Perfect food, perfect service, superior atmosphere. What more can you ask for in a steak restaurant.

Maybe the best thing about The Keg is that you know you are guaranteed an excellent meal. Anything not meet your expectations? Just mention it and a replacement(and probably a comp) is immediately available. Service is impeccable — Our waiter, Kevin, was there consistently, making sure all was well, and agreeing our appetizer was overcooked — in less than a minute, the manager was at our table with a new plate of calamari, and it was taken off the bill. All with smiles and the perfect attitude — we could not have asked for more. We asked to share a steak and for only $ 3 more added a plate of mixed veggies in addition to the sides on the plate. I have never seen a better assortment of veggies — there were seven kinds, cooked perfectly, more than enough to share, with no plating charge for dividing the meal. And even though we try to be pretty carb-free, who can resist their bread — piping hot, crunchy and chewy, with whipped butter. It just begs to be eaten! Our littlest diner had the child’s meal of two sliders and fries, which was preceded by her OWN included appetizer of celery with ranch dip, ripe strawberries sliced for easy eating, and orange slices. The sliders are also available for adults and WOWZERS are they delicious! Prime rib ground fine that simply melted in your mouth — have never had a «burger» anything like that before! As others have mentioned, if you go during prime time, you are going to have a considerable wait time. And the restaurant itself can be crowded and noisy. However, those factors simply fade away in your memory as you enjoy fabulous food and service. It’s one of the rare places that I immediately want to plan a return as I walk out the door :-D

Our server Brianne was wonderful. She took care of our needs sometimes before asking. My blackened sirloin was delicious and my friend enjoyed the fall off the bone chicken and ribs. I would highly recommend either meal. We were able to make reservations today which was greatly appreciated. I’ve tried to come here several times these past two months and left due to the hour wait. I was not aware of weekday reservations. I’ll be back. Oh yes, no meal is complete without the no calorie Billy Miner Pie.

My husband and I had a lovely date night at The Keg Skyview last Friday. We didn’t have a reservation and were given a 65 minute wait time, so we went shopping nearby while we waited. Upon returning 20 minutes early, we were shown immediately to a table! That was a nice surprise. Our server was friendly and attentive, checked in regularly, kept our glasses full, but managed to stay under the radar without being overbearing. Our food was out to us promptly, perfectly cooked(even for my picky date), and was one of the best Keg meals I’ve ever enjoyed. Plus, because it was my birthday, we were surprised with complimentary dessert — the Billy Miner Pie! It was so delicious and big enough to share! Overall, a great experience from beginning to end!

Love the patio in the summer. Drinks are yummy, wine list is great, and the food quality is always spot on. You can sit and socialize with your friends without the service staff making you feel like you need to pay your bill and leave any time soon.

Went go the keg on a date night and had a great experience! The staff was helpful, friendly and knowledgable. The French onion soup was delightful but needed some more cheese on it. My boyfriend loved the calamari and his sirloin steak that was cooked perfectly. Also who has better bread then the keg?! Delicious. The cocktail and wine list are extensive and great and the veggies and fruits are fresh. We will be back!

I want to start the review by saying– our server– i wish i would have gotten your name to put into this review. Absolutely fantastic! The 2 male servers had the section and they were both just awesome! Thank you! My steak(8oz) was cooked just right, the boyfriends chicken was so juicy and ribs were delicious! Our appetizers came out fast and he said it was great. I will definitely be back to this Keg!

The service is good. Food is consistently good. Order the steak or prime rib bc they never disapoint. The portions are large and if you plan to share the kitchen will plate your foods in half if requested. I enjoy the keg for those nights when you need to eat a good steak. We live in beef country and this place does deliver. The steaks and prime ribs are always cooked to order. So you pay for that consistentsy. there can be wait for a table at peak dinner time at 6 pm. But i just sit in the lounge and order appetizers and drinkswhile i wait. They normally give you a little buzzer thing so you dont even have to worry. The appetizers are decent and are good. The escargots are ok but Ive had better. I typically like to order the prime rib and a few sides and then share with a friend or partner. Theres always plenty this way and its pretty thrifty too. For dessert I highly recomend the trio of desserts where you get a small taste of three desserts. A crème brûlée, cheescake and a brownie. Its a great deal for less than $ 10 and it just enough sweetness to satisfy you at the end of the meal without tipping you on the scale where its hard to breathe bc you ate too much food. I frequent this place all the time with this same order. For two people plated seperately on request is a mere $ 55. A steal if you ask me. Try it.
