This shop is small, full of clocks, watches, and anything that possibly tells time! They fixed my old watch, cleaning it and replacing the glass in a couple of days. The service was good and efficient and the work was done exactly as promised. Watching them work while I waited to pay my bill was neat, you can see the amount of detail and knowledge they have to be repairing all these tiny watches. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this shop again. It’s little tricky to find, it’s located inside the Pacific Rim Mall and you can’t see it from the street.

Fast, efficient, and cheerful! English isn’t their first language but who cares? It’s 2015 and a multicultural city. Those that complain about that get a grip.

Based on the great reviews share by others, I called the store to ask two questions. A lady answered the phone, «Hello», and I asked is this Tai Wa? She answered yes. I ask if the store sells watch repair kits. She clearly had a hard time understanding english. She’s not quite sure what I’m asking. but repeats back, «watch repair?» I say, no but I am looking to purchase the tools in a kit to do my own watch repair. Do you sell those? She still doesn’t understand the question. I ask if Tai Wa can do watch timing/regulation? She says, sorry my english bad and hung-up the phone on me. Just my guess, but they probably don’t get too many phone calls. I’ll give them a chance based purely on the awesome reviews and go and visit the store. Edited to add: Went by for a visit about an hour after I called and drove in from out of town. Wow there is a lot of product crammed into this tiny retail space! Wasn’t greeted when I entered the store and saw a woman at the counter and and a man working on what looked like a watch repair. I browsed for a minute and then approached the staff and asked about purchasing tools for doing my own repairs. Once again, English is not spoken here or understood very well. So I asked about getting the timing on the watch fixed as it was running a little fast each day. She again didn’t understand what I wanted and asks in very broken english if I want a cleaning. So I take my watch off and gesture that I need the back taken off so the screw can be adjusted for the timing. She says 10 bucks to take the back off. At this point I’m thinking there’s just no way I’m going to ever step foot back in this store. A white guy in a nice suite and tie who doesn’t speak anything but english and they didn’t have the time of day for this customer to understand my reason for visiting the store. I’m downgrading my review from two to one star. Goodluck. You’ll need to bring along an interpreter if you’re going to have any kind of communication that’s understood.

Can not say enough about this fantastic little shop. Tried several other places in the city(AVOID the clock repair at Westmount!) before stumbling across the true craftsmen at Tai Wa. We had a pendulum wall clock that was unfortunately knocked off the wall and broken. Not only were they able to repair the clock works but they rebuilt the damaged wood casing and replaced the smashed crystal on the clock face. It looks better than new, and very reasonably priced repair to boot. But the very best part of this shop is the customer service, everyone we dealt with was fantastically helpful and friendly. They took our clock and said they would call with an estimate. Only took a day and half(and we dropped it off on a Saturday) and we had a call giving us an estimate of $ 110 for the repair but sadly they did not think they could find a crystal for the clock face. We told them to go ahead with the repairs as it was a family clock and we would live with no crystal. Got a call a quick week later and not only was the clock done and ready to pick up but they had managed to find a crystal and had it shipped from Toronto. Went to pick up the clock and they lovely lady there felt bad that they had quoted us $ 110 and with the crystal it was $ 130 that she wasn’t going to charge us the full amount! We were more than willing to pay the full bill as we were thrilled that they managed to find the crystal. Fantastic service!!! Would give 10 stars if we could! We will be going back!

Teeny little shop filled with watches, straps and other time related bits. If you are looking for a replacement strap or an out of date Timex or Swatch this is the place. Like that they still write out receipts old school.

After having bad luck with other watch repair shops, I thought I’d bring my Coach piece into Tai Wa. The previous reviewers were not kidding. The owners know what they are doing, do it at a reasonable price and you leave absolutely satisfied. One of my hands fell out of place and they fixed it for $ 10!!! That is amazingly low! They’ve won a lifelong customer after today. I believe it’s a cash only business but HSBC is just down the hall.

Every once in a while you find someone who is a true craftsman at their trade. We found this person at the Tai Wa Watch and Clock Company. My husband and I both had old watches which meant a great deal to us as they were gifts from family, both watches were in need of work and we were told by separate watch repair places that the watches were beyond repair. When we brought the watch to this shop the«master» quickly opened the watch, figured out the problems and quoted us a very reasonable price. Both watches were returned in beautiful condition and keep perfect time! It means so much that we can wear these heirlooms again. We were both so impressed! We found it interesting that as we were waiting for a quote for our watch another jeweler came in with a couple of watches for repair!

Members of my family were having difficulty finding a watch repair place with quality and value in any of the typical locations. Then someone got the idea to check out what was available in Chinatown. That is how we discovered Tai Wa Watch & Clock. Tai Wa is located in the Pacific Rim Mall. It is a very small store that is positively packed with different kinds of watches, all at reasonable prices. There is also a small selection of jade jewelry and other collectibles. My brother had a watch fixed here that no one else was able to take care of. That is why I decided to bring my beloved, 25 year old Cardinal wind up here to be repaired. They did a fantastic job — the watch runs like a charm, and they even included a new band. Tai Wa will also replace watch batteries on the spot and I found the price for that to be lower than in other places. If you need to get a new watch or get a current one repaired, definitely consider Tai Wa.
