Nasty nasty nasty. I ordered delivery last night and while I was impressed that the order showed up in 25 minutes, I regret the food I ordered. I went out on a limb and ordered the cheesey chicken bacon pasta which sounded delicious. What I got was a bland mess of a measley serving of pasta with no hint of the ‘cheesey’ and the addition a biteful of gristle and bone INMYPASTA. At $ 16.99 to not even serve the dish with all white, give me a break. What pasta dish has dark meat in it. And the bone and gristle, just disgusting and turned me off the whole thing. I’ve had a few poor experiences with Swiss Chalet delivery and this is the nail in the coffin. Im off it for good. Ew.

I’ve visited this location a few times and the service has always been reliable and the food consistent. I visited recently with my overseas friends and we were satisfied with the service level, in fact I’d say the bubbly personality of the server and quick response times were far more impressive than the food quality. I found my chicken to be somewhat undercooked and the fries to be a little too soggy. The chalet sauce is horrific, and I strongly urge against it when possible. Pricing for 3 of us was around $ 55 excluding tip which is extremely good these days, especially in downtown Edmonton. But, that said, you do get what you pay for in terms of food quality.

Very enjoyable restraunt for a family lunch. Quiet, clean, good food. My only complaint is it was freezing inside the restraunt.

I have been using their delivery service and I been having the best experience. Quality of the meals have been great. The salads are fresh and the meals are hot on arrival. A great alternative to pizza delivery

This used to be a restaurant where you can order, take your food to go, or seat yourself. I was surprised to find it’s now a full service restaurant that even has alcohol on the menu. We were there just after 11:30 and were the only ones in the restaurant. Since it was a cold day, it wasn’t a full restaurant. We had our choice of seating and choose the half booth tables close away from the door. The server was prompt to take our drink orders and brought out are food with a few minutes of ordering so the ‘express’ can still apply. I had the chicken wrap with a baked potato. The butter and sour cream for my potato came on another plate. The presentation wasn’t great but that isn’t the reason why I came to Swiss Chalet. The wrap was good but it didn’t taste as good as I’ve had in the past. Potato was good with the butter and sour cream. Our server checked on us during the meal which was good. The bathroom was clean but the floor seemed to have a sticky-ish film on. At least there was soap and towels. With tip and tax my meal was about $ 13 and other restaurants around that I can have a decent meal at for that price. Unlikely I’ll return anytime soon.

Me and the bae decided to go for a stroll to grab something to eat, it was thanksgiving weekend after all. Eating one more cup noodle just didn’t seem right. We decided swiss chalet would be the perfect choice, due to my INTENSE craving for mashed potatoes. FIRSTIMPRESSION: *Walking*. Why are the lights off?(Holiday noone wanna work?) Hmm I wonder if they turned the lights off purposely so we don’t come in. I had really low standards for this Swiss chalet, especially with the lights off. Actualyl, I lied, I had no expectations at all. So we went in, Bae looked at me and asked, take-out or sit-in? I quickly replied. I don’t know, let’s sit. He said, «So you do know.» That made me giggle. I abruptly walked in, like I own the place or something. Then bae checked me, and said we’re supposed to wait to be seated. Finaly, we were geeted, seated by a petite asian woman. She was nice. My only thoughts were, I seriously HOPE the ribs aren’t dry or salty. ESPECIALLYDRY! Menu’s were given out. For some reason it took us a while to order, who knows what why. I asked for a special menu. She said she didn’t have one, but to my surprise, she returned 5 mins later with a special menu. Yay. Hmm, now shall we order? RIBS. half order or full? Half because the MAIN event is MASHEDPOTATTOOOEOES !! Backside or Side ribs? WHICHEVERONEHASMOREFAAAT !!! It was really difficult to decide which we wanted, so I asked the server. Which has more fat? Which one is more tender? Which has more meat? I dont’ want it to be dry. Our server was SUPER patient and helpful, despite my constant asking of questions… she didn’t make me feel like a nuisance or anything. That was nice of her. We chose back ribs. SUCH a good choice. the meat was SOO tender. We didn’t even need to move the knife back and fourth, just stab. That’s how tender the meat was. Of course we chose mashed potatoes for our side, and also a side of baked potatoe. MMMMM carbs… It was a little strange they didn’t butter and sour cream up the potato for me. But thank god my bae was there, he offered. THANKGOD ! Mid-way through the meal we thought, what would make this even MOREAMAAHZING?! SAUCE… SAUCE! Sowwwce. Smother everything with swoce, please. Our petite asian server was SO perfect throughout our dining experience. She checked up on us every time she got the chance to. Even a simple, «You guys ok?» as she walked past our table, with hot plates on her hand, serving someone else. We replied, Yes. HERRESPONSE: Thank u! — — – Wow. just wow. That’s when I knew I would come back to visit FORSURE! As we waited for our check,(bae treated, thanks) we can overhear the kitchen staff speaking in a foreign language. THENITHITME. VIETNAMESE. we are the same. So as we walked out, there was a male host at the door, waiting to greet us goodbye. We knew he was the same as us, we just knew it. So greeted him in our native language. «Cam on !» «Byee emmm !’ His reaction was priceless. He said, „OOuuu ?!“ In vietnamese, that means, ‘ISIT? Is it really?» Overall. this was a FINE dining experience for me. Although the restaurant resembles a food court quite a bit… The workers, and the food. AMAHZINGGGG! =)

So my friends and I were staying over at the Canterra Suites and decided to have some thanks giving dinner… Our choices were sushi, burritos, or… Swiss chalet! Clearly swiss chalet would most likely resemble a turkey dinner. Anyway we walked in and were immediately greeted by some friendly Asian servers. We wanted ribs but there were 2 different kinds, back piece and something else. We were so lost and didnt know what the difference was but the friendly waitress gladly explained to us the difference in her broken english. So we got the ribs that were recommended, and it came with a warm bun, a baked potato, and some coleslaw. We also ordered a side of mash potatoes because we were really REALLY craving for some… The ribs were on point, nice and tender and the BBQ sauce was so good that we had to ask for more, to lather on to our mash potatoes. Coleslaw was mediocre but whatever. As we were eating the server would regularly check up on us, asking us if we wanted a refill etc etc… One time she checked up on us and asked us: «is everything okay?» We responded with«yes!» With a big smile, and then for some reason, she said«thank you!». This gave us a big chuckle. While we ate, we heard that the service staff was actually Vietnamese!(as we were too!). So before we left, we said«Bye em, cam on!» Which meant thank you, and the male host was so shocked and gave out a squeal and a face that seemed like we were his long lost family. 100% would eat here again if I ever visit Edmonton!

Food is straight forward and tasty, do not expect any great culinary inventions here but you get a pretty good meal at a decent price. Staff are friendly. Downside: bathrooms are very unsanitary, floors need a good scrubbing to remove the built up crude. You know what they say: look at the sanitation in the bathroom to get an idea of what the kitchen maybe like…

This used to be a Swiss Chalet Express, as opposed to the chain’s sit-down restaurants. It has since been renovated and is now a dining room. Actually, the dining area looks the same as before. The main ordering counter, however, has been concealed by a wall. The staff here are super friendly. And the food? Well, if you like Swiss Chalet, then you won’t be disappointed.

This Swiss Chalet is convenient located very close to where I work, so I pop in every few months to grab a chicken sandwich or a quarter chicken dinner(if I’m *really* hungry). It’s always really fast, and the staff are polite and generally helpful — though be warned that they get stressed out if you ask for no sides… I think their computer system threatens to self-destruction if you don’t order at least a salad or something. The place is clean, the food is good. This is a solid fast food join, if you really like rotisserie chicken(which I do). Recommend for Chickenphiles. Wait, are they called that?
