Hours say they are open until 11pm but we were refused service at 10:25pm! Apparently kitchen shut down early… Sucks when your staying at the hotel and the restaurant is in the hotel.

The other reviews are a bit harsh.
Let’s be realistic. It’s Smitty’s. It’s. Smitty’s. The food isn’t going to be amazing, and you don’t walk in expecting the best service.
That being said, as drab as this place can sometimes feel, I really like the current management and staff. If you order lunch/dinner, it’s not going to be great. But that’s not why you’re at a Smitty’s. If you’re there for breakfast, things are looking a lot better. Actually, their omelettes are delicious. And I once ordered the quesadilla in desperation, and it turned out to be one of the better quesadillas I’ve ever eaten.
Not bad, not great, and sometimes it’ll surprise you. Bonus points for extremely friendly and attentive staff.

WORST MEAL OF MY LIFE!!!
My girlfriend and I go out for breakfast every weekend, at least twice a week, at restaurants all over Edmonton. This Smitty’s had the worst food I ever been subjected to. Eggs were barely warm, fruit was old, hash browns hard as rocks, burnt toast… The list goes on. The worst part of it was the «back bacon» I was given. There is no part of me that believes that was even pork.
The dining area reeked of a strong chlorine/bleach odor and the staff really didn’t seem concerned how obviously dissatisfied we were with our food and overall experience.
Smitty’s is terribly overpriced to begin with so when you pay $ 30+ for breakfast for 2 you expect something decent (edible) at the very least… Avoid this restaurant! Unless you are in need of a good laugh or you want to obtain food poisoning on purpose.

Worst breakfast ever! My son & I were placed in Rofel’s section & couldn’t have had a worse waitress. She was annoyed to have to wait on us, take our order, didn’t bring us water when we asked, I had to go through the restaurant for napkins & clean cutlery. I asked her for a little bit of green onion in my omelet & it came back with a ton of green pepper throughout, none of the food was even warm, my son had raw bacon. This girl either needs to not work with the public or stay at home when she’s feeling so miserable. Left a lovely sticky disaster all over the table — enjoy the rest of your shift!
After posting this comment the manager reached out to me and apologized but that was it, no offer for a free meal to make up for the problems or anything! Bye bye Smitty’s from another unsatisfied customer who won’t even return for a free meal. You can keep your apologies because it’s too late for that now.
