Simply Supper

If you’re looking for a fun date idea to do with your child, consider simply supper. I come here periodically with my 7 year old and we have a blast!
That’s not to mention the amazing-​ness of this concept — do all your prep work for easy dinners! The price is right, the meals are yummy, and they even come with nutritional information!
I love simply supper!

Came to Simply Supper for the first time this past weekend with my 5 year old who won a gift certificate for artwork she submitted to our local paper.
The staff were friendly, the place clean, and the conceit easy enough for my mini chef to follow! I loved that they had kid sized aprons, too :-)
They provide complimentary beverages while you prep your meals (be sure to book ahead of time) or you can have them prep your meals to go for an up charge.
The space is bright and big — loved the visual appeal of the glossy red cupboards and stainless steel counters.
The workstations were clearly labelled with easy to portion/​prep ingredients and accoutrements. I’d really like to buy their little tbsp measurer!
Price point fluctuates a bit depending on portions but think in the $ 5-​$ 6 range per person and you’ll need to add your own veggies/​sides. They do offer some in store like garlic bread or Parmesan green beans.

I have been going to prepare meals for over 3 years and its my go to gift for anyone with a new baby! I started going when I was pregnant with my first and didn’t have the energy to make meals myself. We continued with a newborn– it was so simple my husband was able to make a variety of meals that were healthy too. We now have a family of 4 and are addicted. The 2 – 3 serving size feeds us all supper and usually lunch the next day for my husband. I enjoy introducing my kids to new foods that I would never cook on my own accord from Turkish meatballs to mango curry chicken. We have only had one meal in 3 years that we didn’t like. I love that I make the meals myself so I know what goes into each one and can accommodate for picky eaters and allergies.
The whole process is so convenient, my friends and I make a night of it once a month and have fun prepping the meals together. Meal planning is a breeze and we eat out far less frequently. I also rely significantly less on prepackage meals from the grocery store that are pricey and have unknown amounts of preservatives, sodium and other mystery fillers.
The staff is fantastic and go above and beyond for us every single time. Answering e-​mail requests and food substitutions and putting up with general forgetfulness on my behalf with a smile. The main reason, besides the friendly staff and exceptional food, we choose simply supper over some of the other choices out there are that the nutritional information is always provided so I am able to work it into my weight watchers plan and have successfully lost weight while eating theses meals most nights, my family also enjoys them, so I am only cooking one meal!

I am not a fan of making dinner. If we’ve been out all day than I am constantly calling my husband to pick something up. Going once a month and having meals in the freezer makes it a bit easier to grab something from the freezer and have dinner ready with some veggies that we have on hand.
The ragin cagin po’boys are a favorite around here. I love the spice and they’re so easy that I can cook them up in minutes and serve them to everyone. The kids love the pasta dishes, and bringing them with us, we’ve had great service in store. Having them help prepare the meals makes our four year old more interested in eating it.
Saves us money by reducing the take out and buying that one obscure ingredient for the meal you’re only going to use once.

Basically, Simply Supper gives you meat with a marinade. Not a veggie to be seen. I noticed that their garlic had mold all over it and brought it to their attention. Of course they changed it for me. The people who did not look that closely before me were not so lucky, they brought home mold. I have tried Dinner Revolution, Servings, Dashing Dishes and Cena besides Simply Supper. My favorite by far is Servings, followed by Cena, then Dashing Dishes. Simply Supper, well — no. Cena is excellent, but costs. ASK WHERE THE MEAT COMES FROM! I know for a fact that one of these places gets meat from overseas. I would ask to see the box the meat came from. Maybe if enough people ask they will start buying Alberta beef and chicken.

I haven’t had a meal from Simply Supper which I haven’t enjoyed. Some of them are much better than others, but I’ve never been disappointed.
It’s essentially home made food — I always pay the slight charge for them to assemble my meals and then just pick them up. It’s only very slightly more money than what it would cost to cook yourself.
I am such a bit fan of these people. You won’t go wrong with buying food from them. :)

This place is FANTASTIC! I have tried other supper preparation places, and unfortunately the food was sub-​par — so much so that I didn’t even eat half the meals after trying them, they tasted so bad! But the food at Simply Supper is tremendously good! I have been satisfied with every single meal I have ordered. And the best part is, for an extra $ 20, they will prepare the meals for you. So, as a busy working person, I simply have to show up and pick up my prepared meals. Everything is packaged and ready for me to cook. It is so handy, after work I come home and I can throw one of the packages in the oven or on the stove top and excellent tasting food is available in a short time. They don’t skimp on products or quality, and the portions are really reasonable (that was another problem with the last place I tried, what was supposedly three portions of food was more like two, but at Simply Supper they truly are full portions). If you are interested in this sort of meal preparation and would like delicious quality and food, Simply Supper is the one to try!

I LOVE Simply Supper! My family has been going to Simply Supper every month for almost a year now and we aboslutely love it. Our daughter thinks its great to participate in the meal preparation and has expanded her dietary advertures significantly (she wouldn’t touch fish before and now she’ll eat it!). Our grocery bills are significantly lower now, our variety of meals at home is way higher, and we order out way less often. We have our Simply Supper meals during the week and really enjoy cooking more extravagent meals on the weekend instead of dreading planning meals and shopping lists. Our family absolutely loves Simply Supper and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
