This was my first time here and at the Terwillegar Rec Centre in general. I came to purchase a London Fog to sip on while at a kid’s birthday party. The staff weren’t very friendly — no friendly greetings or smiles really, just to the point. My drink was prepared as requested and once again just to the point — no extra friendliness or even a «enjoy!». Needless to stay I didn’t stick around. They have seating available and I noticed that a few tables were occupied with friends and young families chatting.

Quiet and local. It’s nice that it isn’t a Starbucks. The food is awful, a really wretched selection of unhealthy processed crap, rice crispy squares and over priced gaunt beef rolls, muffins worse than Costco’s. Staff is OK, worn furniture and a fairly calm atmosphere with free wifi make this a suburban bleak refuge in a boring mall, located near a cul de sac filed South Edmonton purgatory.

Small and cozy. Those are the two words I would use to sum up this Second Cup. This is not a very busy location during the weekdays. The staff were friendly and above all patient. You never get the awkward feeling of them looming over you for an order. Even with cold and gloomy weather outside, they seem to try to cheer you up somehow. Inside is furnished with the usual brown furniture like any other Second Cup. There isn’t a great view offered at this location, however it’s a nice place to escape from the cold and warm up with a hot chocolate with whipped cream. I am not a big coffee drinker, so hot chocolate is what I usually go for during the winter, and Italian soda or a brewed iced tea over the summers. Unfortunately this location does not have an interesting view of anything. Most of the seats either face the parking lot or road, but the soft jazz music helps liven things up. I would not make an extra effort to come to this location as it is nothing special, however if I was already in the area, then this would certainly be my choice.
